تبيتُ لِيَ اللَذّاتُ مَعقودَةَ العُرا
إِذا ما أَدارَ الكَأسَ أَحوَرُ عاقِدُ
Pleasures spend the night with me, their ties knotted fast,
whenever a dark-eyed knotter passes the cup around.
يَذُبُّ الدُجى عَن وَجهِ نارٍ تَحُلُّهُ
كُؤوسٌ لِأَعناقِ اللَيالي قَلائِدُ
He drives the darkness from the face of a fire upon which settle
goblets—necklaces for the necks of nights.
