فأَرعى تَحتَ حاشِيَةِ الدَياجي
شَقائِقَ وَجنَةٍ سُقِيَت مُداما
So I behold, beneath the hem of darkness,
the anemones of a cheek watered with wine.
إِذا كَرَّت لَواحِظُ مُقلَتَيهِ
حَسِبتَ قُلوبَنا مُطِرَت سِهاما
When the glances of his two eyes wheel and charge,
you would think our hearts had been showered with arrows.
وَإِن مالَت بِعَطفَيهِ شَمولٌ
سَقانا مِن شَمائِلِهِ سِقاما
And if wine sets his body swaying,
he gives us a draught of sickness from his charms.
