اِسقِنيها وَاللَيلُ فَرعُ عَروسٍ
زَيَّنوهُ بُدُرِّهِ وَجُمانِه
Give me wine to drink, while night is a bride’s tress;
they have decked it with its pearls and its beads.
وَكَأَنَّ الجَوزاءَ حينَ تَهاوَت
فارِسٌ مالَ عَن سَراةِ حِصانِه
And it is as though Orion, when it sank,
were a horseman leaning from the back of his steed.
