أَهذا نسيمٌ قد تَهادى مِن الَّتي
سَبَت مُهجَتي بِالنّاعِسِ النّاغِشِ النَّزكِ
Is this a breeze that has wafted gently from her who
ensnared my soul with her languid, tear-brimming, capricious gaze?
فَإِن لا فَما بالُ النّواحي تَضَمَّخَت
عَبيراً وجو الأفقِ يَأرَجُ بِالمِسكِ
And if not, why have the surrounding regions steeped themselves
in perfume, while the horizon’s air breathes musk?
