وَيُزهى الفَتى بِالمال وَالجاهِ في الدُّنى
وَلذةِ مَطعومٍ وَناعمِ مَلبوسِ
The young man glories in wealth and rank in this lower world,
And in the pleasures of fine food and soft attire.
وَغايتُهُ ضعفٌ وَشَيبٌ وَميتةٌ
وَقَبرٌ وَبَعثٌ للنَعيمِ أَو البُوسِ
Yet his final end is weakness, gray hair, and death,
A grave, then resurrection—to bliss or misery.
