إِذا صِلَةٌ وافَتكَ مِن صاحِبٍ فَكُن

لَهُ شاكِراً إِذ كُنتَ مِنهُ عَلى ذِكرِ

When a gift from a friend comes your way, then be

If a friend greets you, then be

grateful to him, for he kept you in mind.

Grateful to him, for you were in his thoughts.

وَإِنّي لأَعتَدُّ اليَسيرَ مِن النَدى

وَإِنّي لأَعتَدُّ اليَسيرَ مِن النَدى

وَأُتبِعُهُ بِالحَمدِ مِنّي وَبِالشُكرِ

وَأُتبِعُهُ بِالحَمدِ مِنّي وَبِالشُكرِ

Indeed, I esteem even the slightest generosity,

Truly, I hold even a little dew

and follow it with praise and thanksgiving of my own.

In high esteem, and follow it with thanks and praise from me.
