As though the stars of the Pleiades, to one
The stars of Thurayya seem to one
who gazes at them while darkness closes in,
who beholds them, while darkness enshrouds,
were a miser’s wealth, which he keeps amassing
like wealth of a miser, who goes on piling it,
from every quarter, never to be dispersed.
acquiring from every side, but never spends.
