يا ظبي عيديد

أنحلت جسمي بالبعاد وأضنيت

O graceful gazelle

My body has melted with distance and yearning

يا معسجد الجيد

مضى زماني فرقة وتشتيت

O place of prostration

My time has passed in separation and scattering

في جفا وتنكيد

متى الرضا ياليت لي ويا ليت

In hardship and subjugation

When will contentment be mine, oh if only

ما لغيركم حيد

ولا تبدّلت وليس مليت

None can guide me but you

I have not changed nor grown weary

كامل المعاني

ان لم تعجل باللقا فعدنا

Perfect in meaning

If you do not hasten our meeting, bring us back

علّ بالأماني

يحيى القليب الصادي المعنى

With hopes

That enliven the heart, give meaning to longing

ما سواك ثاني

ولا لغيرك يا حبيب قصدنا

None but you, my beloved

Is our destination, O object of our desire

عشقتك بتأكيد

ما خنتكم بل بالذمام أوفيت

I loved you with certainty

I have not betrayed you, but have been loyal with my soul

يا إله أسالك

أن لا تخيب يا كريم راجيك

O God, I ask You

Do not disappoint this hopeful supplicant

مرتجى نوالك

وليس له حيلة سوى الرجا فيك

My hope rests in Your bounty

And he has no recourse but to hope in You

قد عظم كمالك

ولا كريم في العطا يدانيك

So great is Your perfection

No generous one rivals You in giving

يا جواد يا جيد

كم جدت يا جزل النوال وأعطيت

O Generous One, Most Excellent

How generous You are in Your gifts

كم كذا أعسى

وقد فنى صبري وضاق جلدي

How thirsty am I

When my patience is spent and my skin chafed

وقد عدمت أنسى

من يوم غبتم يا أهيل ودّي

Since the day You left

O intimate friends and beloveds

وصار غير جنسي

أجانسه يا وحشتي وفقدي

All else seems foreign

Without You, my longing and loss

كم نصب وتشديد

والقلب مني لا بحى ولا ميت

What suffering and hardship

While my heart lives not nor dies

يا لطيف لا طف

ولا تؤاخذني بعظم جرمي

O Gentle One, have mercy

And do not judge me for my great sin

كم لكم لطايف

نزيل أوصا بي وكلّ همي

How gentle You are

I entrust myself and all my cares to You

ليس أنا بخائف

وأنتم رجائي يا وسيع كرم

I am not afraid

For You are my hope, O Abundant in Mercy

شاكرك فلي زيد

واعطني سؤلي وما تمنيت

Thanking You, give me more

Grant my request and what I wish

ثم صلّ دائم

على النبي المصطفى المكرّم

Then send blessings everlasting

Upon the honored Prophet

درّة آل هاشم

لِلّه ما أكمل علاه وأعظم

Pearl of the Hashemites

Allah, how great his stature and might

حاوي المكارم

يوم القيام الشافع المقدّم

Possessor of all virtues

Intercessor on Judgment Day, the foremost

وآله الصناديد

هم آل بيت ما أجله بيت

And his noble descendants

They are the household, most eminent of all houses
