ما استماعي لحالي النغمات

بل معان مثيرة العزمات

My listening to my tunes is not

But inspirations that stir determination

لا بماض ولا بأمر سيأتي

همتي ما بقى حبيبي موات

Neither with the past nor with what is to come

My resolve remained as long as my beloved lives

عشقتي ذاتكم بها ذات ذاتي

يا حياتي أفنيت فيكم حياتي

I loved your essence itself the essence of my essence

Oh my life I wasted my life in you

ان نفي لغيركم إثباتي

وافتقاري إليكم ثرواتي

That my existence is for none but you is my proof

And my need of you is my wealth

لست أحتاج فيه للبينات

لا ولا أفتقر لنقل الثقات

I do not need evidence for it

Nor do I lack conveying beliefs

بل سمعت النداء في الذرات

يوم قلتم ألست في النسمات

Rather I heard the call in the atoms

The day you said am I not in the breeze

أنتم قبلتي إليكم صلاتي

يا صلاتي لا تقطعوني صلاتي

You are my destination to you my prayers

Oh my prayers do not cut me off from my prayers

أنتم أصل مبتدا طاعتي

ما بقي لي توجه للجهات

You are the origin of my obedience

I have no direction left for directions

بحضوري قد طاب لي حضراتي

فأديموا براحكم راحاتي

With my presence my presence brings me joy

So give me with your relief, my comfort

ان سلوكي قد ضاع في النزهات

فاقبلوا يا سادتي عثراتي

If my conduct was lost in outings

Then accept O my masters my stumbling

ان يكن شرط جودكم حسناتي

من لأهل الذنوب والسيئات

If the condition of your kindness is my good deeds

Who then for the people of sins and misdeeds

ان برى من برّكم ما براتي

ما اعتذاري إليكم ما نجاتي

But I am innocent of your innocence what I have attained innocence

Not my apology to you nor my salvation

يا أهيل العزائم الصادقات

الزموا الباب واسكبوا العبرات

Oh people of sincere resolves

Keep to the door and pour out tears

صححوا القصد ان أصل الثبات

صدق الاخلاص مع حسن النيات

Correct the intention if the essence is steadfastness

Sincerity of devotion with good intentions

ينظر اللَه للقلوب اللواتي

قد صفت وأكملت جميل الصفات

God looks to hearts that

Have been characterized and perfected good traits

بالحرى أن يصادف الولجات

مدمن القرع لازم العتبات

It is more apt that it meets implorations

The constant knocker sticking to thresholds

فهو معنى قول النبي يا رواتي

كم لربي في الدهر من نفحات

That is the meaning of the Prophet's words O you who narrate

How many breaths my Lord has in time

فعليه من ربي ذوي الهمات

بعد أزكى السلام أزكى الصلاة

So whoever among the determined should expect from my Lord

After the most virtuous greeting, the most virtuous prayer
