1. يا قمر في لماه جوهر

    وشهد ممزوج صرف خمره

    O moon with radiant splendor

    And pure wine mixed with musk

  2. كلفني الحبّ فيك أسهر

    وشب في القلب منك جمره

    Love for you keeps me awake

    Your embers burning in my heart

  3. وأسقمني منك طرف أحور

    كحيل مواج فيه فتره

    Your alluring glance makes me lovesick

    Like kohl disturbed and smudged

  4. وأعجبني منك قدّ اسمر

    لكل قلب عليه حسره

    Your tanned complexion captivates me

    Every heart longs for you

  5. في وجنتيك اللجين والذهب

    والما بين الزهور واللهب

    Your soft cheeks and golden complexion

    Between the flowers and flames

  6. وثغرك العذب كله عجب

    هل لك في أن تصل وتوجر

    Your sweet lips are wondrous

    Will you unite us and allow us to meet?

  7. وتودع العين منك نظره

    إن عذولي عليك أكثر

    Let my eyes bid you farewell

    My chastity prevents me more from you

  8. فلم تكن له عليّ إمره

    تيم قلبي هواك يا من

    You had no command over me

    My heart craves you, O beloved

  9. لقاه جنة وفرقته نار

    كيف بك أسلو وكيف آمن

    Meeting you was paradise, parting was hellfire

    How can I be at peace or feel secure?

  10. وأنت عذري كثير الأعذار

    حبك في القلب قد تمكن

    You have so many excuses

    Love for you has taken hold of my heart

  11. وقد بقلبي عمرت لك دار

    أصلحك اللَه كيف أهجر

    And built a home in my heart for you

    May God fix you, how can I abandon you?

  12. ولا لقلبي عليه قدره

    ما الذنب في ذا الجفا وما السبب

    My heart cannot do without you

    What is my crime, what is the reason for this aloofness?

  13. هل لك في قتل عاشق أرب

    أشكو إلى من علت به الرتب

    Would you kill a lover, is that your wish?

    I complain to the one of highest rank

  14. جوهر سادات آل حيدر

    ومن له الوصف الجميل فطره

    The precious jewel of the Haydar family

    The one whose noble lineage is innate

  15. إن أبي العيدروس أشهر

    من لم يزده المديح شهره

    If praise does not increase his fame

    I said to my longing heart, tell me

  16. قلت لقلبي المشوق اني

    لآل يس رقّ مملوك

    Is there anyone more generous than the Aal-e-Rasheed?

    My heart replied, give me more

  17. جوب قليبي فقال زدني

    من ذا فاني فقير صعلوك

    For I am a poor lowly slave

    Their love made me perish

  18. عشقه من في تريم فني

    لأن من فيه تبر مسبوك

    For their swords are well forged

    Honor is attributed to them

  19. اليهم المكرمات تنسب

    ومنهم المجد صار يجتلب

    Glory is attained through them

    Virtue, dignity and nobility lie with them

  20. وفيهم الفضل حل والحسب

    وسيفهم فوق سيف عنتر

    Their swords are sharper than Antar's

    Victory over Badr is not theirs

  21. ولا عليهم لبدر نصره

    ولا وحق النبي يظفر

    By God, the Prophet will be victorious

    He will prevail without hardship

  22. يخرج منها بغير عسره
