طاب اللقا من سعاد

وغاب نجم الهجر

And my Lord has returned

يفك مغلق أسرى

يحل كلّ العقود

To undo the shackles of the prisoner

To untie all the knots

وبعد طول البعاد

يجبر بسعدي كسرى

And after long absence

He will heal my brokenness with joy

على هوان الحسود

ونال كلّ المراد

Despite the humiliation of the envious

And all wishes were fulfilled

واهزم بيسرى عسرى

بوصل شاذن زرود

And with ease he overcame hardship

By bringing together the scattered Zaroud

بعد بعدي والتنائي

آن سولي ومنائي

After my remoteness and distance

Now intimacy and closeness

بالتداني واللقا

والرضا بعد الجفاء

With acceptance after estrangement

And tasting the sweetness of affection

وذق صفو الوداد

بلؤلؤي الثغر

With my pearly smile

And my tanned complexion

وسمهري القدود

والجعد حالك السواد

With my hair as dark as night

And my face shining like the full moon

ووجه مزري البدر

والصدر زان النهود

My chest adorned with breasts

You have my trust like the clouds

أمانتك والسحاب

تكف جود المزن

Quenching the rain of generosity

Quenching all the meadows

وهاك ماء عيني

واسقي جميع الرحاب

And the valleys and mountains

With tears pouring heavily

وربعها والدمن

بدمع وابل هني

Perhaps the people of that region

Will lament to cure my agony

عسى أهل ذاك الجناب

يرثوا لعالج شجني

For my patience is gone

And my tears are increasing

فإن صبري فنى

وأدمعي في ازديادي

Streaming like rain showers

Your cheek reflecting the moon

تهمي كوبل المطر

خدك صحون الخدود

Your palm like a platter

Stop this my gentle one

كفّ عذلك يا عذولي

قد برى جسمي نحولي

My thin body wasted

Separation from you ruined me

سلني هجران سولي

ما اعتذاري كيف قولي

What can I say in my defense?

For grief and sadness

إن الضنا والسهاد

وأدمعاً لي تجري

And tears flowing for my love

Witness to my passion

على غرامي شهود

فما بقى لي عناد

I have no more stubbornness

Or excuses heard

أو يستمع لي عذري

أو يستطيع الجحود

Or denial possible

By God, guide of caravans

باللَه حادي القلاص

اليعملات الهجن

The mixed crowds

I cannot bear to sit

لا تستطيب الجلوس

من الفراق المضني

فيه تلاف النفوس

Where souls are destroyed
