1. مطوّق بات على الحمايل

    يسرّ صونه ويعلنه

    Adorned with anklets, he walks with pride

    Protecting and proclaiming his beauty

  2. ترك فؤادي العميد ذاهل

    حرك من القلب ساكنه

    Leaving my loving heart bewildered

    Stirring what was still within my soul

  3. شوقي إلى زينة الخلاخل

    تهيم قلبي وتفتنه

    My longing for the sound of his bangles

    Makes my heart crazed and tempting

  4. بحسنها جامع الفضائل

    والخال في الخدّ زينه

    With his perfection gathering all virtues

    And the mole on his cheek an adornment

  5. باللطف والحسن والبهج

    والورد والآس والدعج

    With kindness, beauty and joy

    Like roses, myrtles and bundles

  6. أشراك يا صاح للمهج

    وكلما هبت الشمايل

    I pine for you, oh companion of my pain

    And whenever the north winds blow

  7. ارتاح قلبي لموطنه

    واللَه ما أصغى لقول عاذل

    My heart finds peace in its home

    By God, I do not heed the words of reproachers

  8. ما أتعبه مني وما أشجنه

    قد طال بعدي عن الحبايب

    However much they weary me and make me sad

    My separation from loved ones has been long

  9. ما كان هذا بخاطري

    مالي سمير سوى الكواكب

    This was not what I had in mind

    I have no companion but the stars

  10. والنوم قد عاف ناظري

    نذرت للّه نذر واجب

    And sleep has abandoned my eyes

    I made a solemn vow to God

  11. ان حبي أمسى مسامري

    شا وهبه لِلّه كلّ حاصل

    That my love has become my fate

    And I have given to God everything

  12. من خفّ مالي وارزنه

    واللَه ما أعشق أحد سواه

    Of my thin property and burdens

    By God, I love no one but Him

  13. وغاية القصد لي رضاه

    متى متى ناظري يراه

    My only goal is to please Him

    When, oh when will my eyes see Him

  14. سقاكم اللَه من منازل

    بلا دخلي ومسكنه

    May God quench you from lofty dwellings

    Without my input and its builder

  15. بكل مزن غديق وابل

    ولذّ عيشي وأحسنه

    With every heavy rain and downpour

    And the sweetness of my life and more

  16. تقول هل ما مضى يعاود

    لعهدي الماضي القديم

    You ask, can what is past return?

    To my ancient, bygone days

  17. يا ساكني واد ابن راشد

    ومنتهى السول في تريم

    Oh dweller of Ibn Rashid's valley

    And destination of longing in Tareem

  18. اللَه على ما أقول شاهد

    إني لهجرانهم سقيم

    God is witness to my words

    That I am sick from their estrangement

  19. عاد ان أنت منهم الرسائل

    تهيم قلبي وتفتنه

    Return, if you are among them, messages

    That make my heart crazed and tempting

  20. سألت رب السما الكريم

    يديم بالعزّ والنعيم

    I asked the Generous Lord of the Heavens

    To sustain with might and bounty

  21. على التقىّ الوليّ الحليم

    أبي الحسن فاضل ابن فاضل

    The Godly, Forbearing and Wise

    My father, the virtuous son of the virtuous

  22. شيخ التصوّف ومعدنه

    وفي جميع العلوم كامل

    Leader of Sufism and its essence

    And perfect in every science

  23. اللَه يعزّه ويضمنه

    May God strengthen and protect him
