Though the boy may guide me toward my destination,
If the boy guides me on my road,
and lead me on the journey while I am mounted,
And leads my mount when I ride,
the people surely look to me for light in their affairs:
The people in their affairs are lit by me,
the eye’s light may dim, yet judgment remains keen.
Yet the light of my eyes and my piercing judgement hide.
