1. شاقه في الظلام برق كليل

    فصبا قلبه وهاج الغليل

    A flash gleamed in the darkness of night

    Its youthful heart overflowed with passion

  2. يا له مغرماً إذا الشوق اضنا

    ه شفى قلبه النسيم العليل

    Oh, how lovelorn when yearning overwhelms

    The gentle breeze soothed its aching heart

  3. قد شكرنا نسيم نجد بتبليغ

    رسالاتنا فنعم الرسول

    We thanked the Najd breeze for conveying

    Our messages, so excellent was its delivery

  4. غير اني يغيرني منه تجميش

    خدود الحبيب والتقبيل

    Yet it changed me by caressing

    My beloved’s cheeks and kissing

  5. وكحيل الجفون غادر جفني

    صبوة وهو بالسهاد كحيل

    And kohl upon the eyelids departed

    My youth like the kohl in slumber

  6. فاتر الطرف فاتك بالمعنى

    مثلنا يفتك الحسام الصقيل

    Languid was the gaze that equals

    Our swords polished to a shine

  7. اشنب الثغر بالتبسم يجلو

    اقحوا ناسقته راح شمول

    The mouth smiles, gleaming

    Its towering form gone

  8. يتثنى كانه غصن بان

    غازلته مع الصباح قبول

    It bends as if a bough

    Flirted with it in the morn

  9. ضرج الحسن فوق خديه ورداً

    عبق النشر لم يشنه الذبول

    Beauty spills roses on his cheeks

    The fragrance of blooms is not faded

  10. وحمته عقارب الصدغ حتى

    ليس للمجتنى إليه سبيل

    And moles mark his temples until

    No access remains for the admirer

  11. فاق في حسنه الملاح كما قد

    فاق في مجده الاثيل جميل

    His beauty surpassed sailors’

    As his glory did the excellent heroes

  12. ماجد من ارومة قد زكت منها

    فروع شم وطابت اصول

    Majid, from the lofty palm tree

    Grew branches of esteem and wholesome roots

  13. يجتلى الناظرون منه محياً

    نيرا للعلاء فيه دليل

    The beholders glean from him alive

    A light for the sublime as evidence

  14. ينتضى للخطوب مرهف عزم

    ماضي الحد ما اعتراه الفلول

    He has resolute determination for enterprises

    Of settled purpose, no remnants of despair

  15. فاضل طاهر النقيبة محمود

    المساعي زاكي النجار اصيل

    Virtuous, pure, lauded, commended

    Praiseworthy endeavors, noble origins

  16. كالدراري لاحت له مكرمات

    باقيات لا يعتريها افول

    Like pearls his honors shone

    Remaining without loss

  17. جاد فيه الزمان من بعد بخل

    ربما جاد بالنفيس بخيل

    Fate bestowed him generously instead of stingily

    At times fate may begrudge the precious being miserly

  18. ملكت قلبه العلي وهو في المهد

    رضيع لا الغادة العطبول

    His heart was ruled in the cradle

    An infant, not an unsteady colt

  19. صبغ من معدن الفخار له تا

    ج له من جلاله اكليل

    Dyed from essence of eminence

    A crown for him from his grandeur

  20. شرف ناصع وعز رفيع

    قد رسا فهو ثابت لا يزول

    Conspicuous honor and noble pride

    Settled, firmly fixed, does not fade

  21. يا سليل الكرام قد جل من أنت

    له حين تنتميه سليل

    O scion of nobles, you are indeed exalted

    When one claims descent from you, however lowly

  22. قام للشرع هادياً يقتدى الع

    ارف فيه ويهتدى الضليل

    He rose to lead to law, guided

    The learned emulated him and the lost found guidance

  23. مسبغاً في البلاد ظلا من الع

    دل ظليلا للناس فيه مقيل

    Bestowing in the land a shadow of justice

    Shady, comforting for people a refuge

  24. فلكم بدعة أمات واحيا

    سنة قد دعا إليها الرسول

    So how many heresies he suppressed and how many

    Traditions did he revive the Prophet called to

  25. نصر الله دولة جردته

    مرهفاً للعدى به تنكيل

    May God support a state honed

    To smite the enemy with defeat

  26. رتبة طالت السماء فخاراً

    مالها عن علاكم تحويل

    A rank aspiring to the sky pridefully

    Cannot be diverted from your ascent

  27. من لها غيركم وقد نزل المجد

    بأبياتكم وعز القبيل

    Besides you, when glory itself

    Descended upon your homes, and the tribe’s power

  28. واسود الشرى إذا هي غابت

    خلفتهن في الطباع الشبول

    The destitute, whenever they disappear

    Behind them remains tender youth

  29. معشر عندهم يباح حمى الوفر

    لمن جاءهم ويحمي النزيل

    A people who consider lawful preserving abundance

    For whoever comes to them and sheltering the guest

  30. أنتم والعلاء تشهد اكفاء

    المعالي وغيركم مدخول

    You and the sublime are the guarantors

    Of glorious deeds, none can equal

  31. قد رآك السلطان دام له التأ

    ييد شهماً من حقه التبجيل

    The Sultan saw you – may his support endure

    Valorous, deserving of reverence

  32. فاستهلت منه سحائب لطف

    آذنت ان سينجح المأمول

    So clouds of his kindness poured forth

    Portending the wished-for would succeed

  33. فابق للمكرمات ما لاح برق

    وهمت مزنة وطاب اصيل

    Then remain for favors what appeared like light

    And determination grew firm and origins wholesome
