1. قد تحلى الروض من قطر الندى

    لؤلؤاً رصع ياقوت الشقيق

    The garden is adorned with drops of dew

    Like pearls studded, carnelian and hyacinth flowers

  2. حبب الطل به قد نضدا

    في كؤوس من سلاف ورحيق

    The morning rain has watered it

    In cups of pure wine and nectar

  3. جاء للروض شقيق عارض

    رمحه بين احمرار واخضرار

    To the garden came the blossoming hyacinth

    Its spear between redness and greenness

  4. مثل خد دار فيه عارض

    فزها الورد بريحان العذار

    Like a cheek marked with a mole

    So the rose is adorned with the scent of musk

  5. في ربوع قد سقاها عارض

    فاكتست اقطارها وشي القطار

    In the meadows rain has watered

    So its regions wore robes of flowers

  6. ان للغيث على الأرض يدا

    توجب الشكر على الروض الأنيق

    Rain has a hand on earth

    That deserves thanks for the beautiful garden

  7. نثر الدر وصاغ العسجدا

    شذرات وشحت وادي العقيق

    It scattered pearls and crafted bracelets

    Fragments, anklets, and the valley of carnelian

  8. ومن الأزهار كم جال وشاح

    فوق ديباج رياض ومروج

    And of the flowers, how much swayed

    Over brocade of gardens and meadows

  9. تحسب النوار فيها والأقاح

    انجماً زهراً تجلت في بروج

    You would think the lights among them and the buds

    Were stars made into flowers placed in constellations

  10. وعلى سجع حمامات البطاح

    يتثنى الغصن والزهر يصوج

    And to the cooing of doves in the lowlands

    The branch sways and the flowers lean

  11. أين اسحق تغنى أوشدا

    من غناء الورق في الغصن الوريق

    Where is Ishaaq who sang odes

    Of the song of leaves on the delicate branch

  12. غردت طبعاً واعطت معبدا

    كلفة من نغمة الصوت الرقيق

    He sang naturally and gave rhythm

    With the melody of the gentle voice

  13. كل ربع فيه من صنع الربيع

    حلل تزرى بصنعاء اليمن

    Every region in it, made by spring

    Wore the gowns of Sanaa in Yemen

  14. للصبا في ذلك الوشي البديع

    خطرات بين غصن وفنن

    For youth in that beautiful attire

    Whims between branch and arts

  15. والنسيم الغض مشغوف صريع

    بغواني الزهر في الروض افتتن

    The tender breeze passionately drunk

    By the beauty of flowers in the garden smitten

  16. من هواها اعتل عشقاً فاغتدى

    بلطيف اللفظ يشكو للعشيق

    Whoever loved them became sick with love

    Speaking gently to the beloved

  17. كلما استعطف زهراً زودا

    منه بالعنبر والمسك الفتيق

    Whenever he pleaded to a flower, he gained

    Ambergris and fine musk from it

  18. هل صبا نجد تداوي من صبا

    بشذى فيه شفاء الدنف

    Is the morning breeze of Najd being healed

    By its fragrance containing cure of sickness

  19. حملت من نشرهم ريح الصبا

    باعث الوجد وداعي الشغف

    The morning breeze carried from their diffusion

    Inspiring passion and calling to fervor

  20. ذكرتني عهد أيام الصبا

    فتجرعت كؤوس الاسف

    It reminded me of the days of my youth

    So I drank cups of sorrow

  21. اترى تلك الليالي عودا

    ام إلى تلك الثنايا من طريق

    Do I see those nights returning

    Or to those valleys, a path

  22. لا عدا صوب الغوادي لا عدا

    مربعا حل به ذاك الفريق

    No return to the valleys, no return

    To the place where my companions resided

  23. قد مضت جدّة أيام الشباب

    والهوى في القلب غرّيافع

    The days of my youth are gone

    And passion remains active in my heart

  24. ومن الوفرة قد طار الغراب

    حيث بازي مشيبي واقع

    From the abundance, the crow has flown

    Where my hair turned white when it landed

  25. وعلى خوف عقاب أو عتاب

    أنا بالعفو المرجى طامع

    Fearing punishment or blame

    I hope for forgiveness

  26. فاسقني الكأس لك النفس الفدى

    من مليح اهيف القدر شيق

    So serve me the cup, for you my soul I ransom

    From a good, slender, elegant flask

  27. أنا لا أشرب راحاً ابدا منك

    أو تمزج لي راحاً بريق

    I never drink alcohol from you at all

    Or mix me something light

  28. طرفك السفاح يا ساجي الجفون

    كم دم طل وكم دمع اراق

    Your debauched eyelid, o cupbearer

    How much blood of mole and how many tears did it shed

  29. سيف عمرو وهو خواض المنون

    كل عن حد مواضيها الرقاق

    The sword of Amr, challenger of death

    Every sharp edge from its scabbards

  30. لو رأى هاروت هاتيك العيون

    لرأى من سحرها ما لا يطاق

    If Harut saw those eyes

    He would see in their magic what cannot be endured

  31. تسلب اللب وتفني الجلدا

    فاتقوا بابل والسيف الذليق

    They steal the mind and ruin the body

    So beware of Babylon and the fine sword

  32. شهد الخد وحقا شهدا

    بدم في خدك القاني اريق

    The cheek and the mole bear witness

    To the blood shed on your pretty cheek

  33. لك ثغر دونه سيف المقل

    يحرس الورد وورد اللعس

    You have a lip, less than it a sword

    Guarding the roses and flowers of the narcissus

  34. ما عهدنا أن اسياف الأجل

    تنتضى وهي عيون النرجس

    We never knew the swords of death

    Withdraw while they are the eyes of the narcissus

  35. قد سمحنا بدم فيك يطل

    أيها الساقي فجد بالأكؤس

    We allowed blood on you to shine

    So pour freely, o cupbearer, into cups

  36. كم رمى لحظك مني الكبدا

    يا رشيقاً غادر القلب رشيق

    How your gaze threw my liver, o slender and heartless one

    I gave passion a firm covenant

  37. لا أبالي لوم من قد فندا

    أنا اعطيت الهوى عهداً وثيق

    Your crooked lip is Meem, the mole is Laam, the figure is Alif

    I hoped for kindness when it turned away

  38. ثغرك الاشنب ميم والعذار

    هو لام والقوام الألف

    If only your cheek would show compassion

    Each letter refers to its meanings

  39. قد رجوت العطف بي لما استدار

    ولو صدغيك فهلا تعطف

    And by it the scriptures of beauty are recited

    Whoever recites them is guided to passion

  40. كل حرف لمعانيه يشار

    وبه للحسن تتلى صحف

    And passion was a good companion to him

    The surah of beauty - how much it prostrated

  41. من تلاهن إلى العشق اهتدى

    والهوى كان له خير رفيق

    The full moon to its subtle meanings

    You, o sweet meanings, are my paradise

  42. سورة الحسن وكم قد سجدا

    قمر التم لمعناه الدقيق

    If only its fruits and produce would approach

    In the gardens of eternity my glance would pasture

  43. أنت يا حلو المعاني جنتي

    لو دنت منها قطوف وثمار

    While my heart prays with fire of despair

    Happy is the glance but my misfortune

  44. في جنان الخلد ترعى مقلتي

    وفؤادي من اسى يصلى بنار

    Is the heart complaining of wounds

    So one group in hellfire forever

  45. سعد الطرف ولكن شقوتي

    منك للقلب الذي شكوا لأوار

    While my fortune is in paradise of beauty

    This one enjoys bliss while the other

  46. ففريق في سعير خلدا

    وحظي في جنة الحسن فريق

    Is in a wide, hot, blazing hell

    O perfect king, whenever I'm humbled

  47. راح هذا في نعيم وغدا

    ذاك في برح زفير وشهيق

    To his passion, I don't disobey orders

    How many times between cheek and cheek I returned

  48. يا مليكاً كلما عز خضعت

    لهواه لست أعصى ما أمر

    Seeking refuge from the arrows of sight

    A wonder - how you crossed two dark nights

  49. كم من الصدغ إلى الصدغ رجعت

    مستجيراً فيه من سهم النظر

    From his cheek, like the cycles of the moon

    A moon rose in the orient of beauty

  50. عجباً كيف بليلين قطعت

    من محيا وجهه دور القمر

    An orient - we have never seen its like in clarity

    Whoever saw that cheek was happy

  51. قمر من مشرق الحسن بدا

    مشرقا ما لسناه من محيق

    O beauty, charm, and elegance

    An idol emerged from his ignorance

  52. من رأى ذاك المحيا سعدا

    يالجمال الغض والحسن الأنيق

    A sun of beauty the suns are ashamed of

    And how much he sent from his flight

  53. صنم اطلع من غرته

    شمس حسن خجلت منها الشموس

    Rivals, so souls are infatuated with him

    The mole on his cheek enslaved

  54. ولكم ارسل من طرته

    شركاً فاعتلقت فيه النفوس

    When its fire flared, the fire of the Magi

    The delicate cheek, when it enchanted

  55. عبد الخال على وجنته

    حين شبت نارها نار المجوس

    The mole won the delicate one

    I said to the critic, a black mole

  56. فرقيق الخد لما استعبدا

    خاله فاز رقيق برقيق

    Have you smelled the musk with elegant diffusion?

    How it illuminated dark nights for me

  57. قلت للشائم خالا اسودا

    هل شممت المسك ذا النشر العبيق

    On a night when its full moon shone

    If the era of meeting has passed

  58. كم اضاءت لي على ذات الأضا

    ليلة كان منيراً بدرها

    With flirtation and the day completes its cycle

    It has returned with the wedding of Al-Murtada

  59. ان بكن عهد التلاقي قد مضى

    بالغواني وتقضي عصرها

    The soul's joy and good news

    So life returned delightful

  60. فلقد عادت بعرس المرتضى

    بهجة النفس ووافى بشرها

    In the pearl of subtle prose

    Nightingale of humankind, in it sings

  61. فغدا العيش نضيراً رغدا

    حالياً في لؤلؤ النظم النسيق

    Songs clearly in subtle rhymes

    I had always resented poetry before

  62. عندليب البشر فيه غردا

    هزجاً يصدح بالسجع الرقيق

    But today with poetry I am generous

    How can I not bestow the precious beads

  63. لم أزل بالشعر من قبل ضنين

    غير اني اليوم بالشعر سخي

    When today joy is brought by my nephew

    That is Isa Al-Majd, radiant of face

  64. كيف لا اسمح بالعقد الثمين

    ولي اليوم الهنا بابن اخي

    O peaks, in poetry transcend to glory

    From his traits we praised the source

  65. ذاك عيسى المجد وضاح الجبين

    ياقوا في الشعر للمجد ارضخي

    And enjoyed the garden of the pleasant face

    And his brother Al-Qasim the prosperous and active

  66. فالقوا في خيرها ما أنشدا

    في اجتماع الشمل أو مدح الصديق

    Star of glory, crescent of lineage

    From him good traits and merits shone

  67. طيب الاخلاق زاك محتدا

    فهو بالمدح جدير وخليق

    Like the rays of scattered gold

    They are the two full moons, Isa and Qasim

  68. ماجد ينمي إلى نجر صميم

    حبذا النجر السني الأقدس

    Illuminating the sky of lineage

    Their glory has become a supported narration

  69. خلق كالروض حياه النسيم

    يأرج النادي به والمجلس

    For Hussein, and it is glorious lineage

    O people of the house built with glories

  70. إن للفرع على الاصل الكريم

    لدليلا ساطعاً يقتبس

    And by it the ancient house was built

    O my friend drink the cup of joy

  71. وعليه من مصابيح الهدى

    مثل ما أومض لماع البريق

    And wear clothes of good news and happiness

    The wedding of Al-Murtada exalted us

  72. من سجاياه حمدنا الموردا

    وانتجعنا روضة الوجه الطليق

    With congratulations, cup after cup

    May his eminence last, we got what we wished

  73. وأخوهن القاسم الزاكي الفعال

    كوكب المجد هلال النسب

    Like the cooing doves on the branch

    In the bliss of life may it eternally remain

  74. حسنت منه المزايا والخصال

    مثلما راقت شذور الذهب

    Its company in the time of the affectionate companion

    So take the pearl that was harvested

  75. صنو عيسى وهما بدرا كمال

    قد اضاءا في سماء الحسب

    O friend, it is truly a pearl

  76. مجدهم اضحى حديثاً مسندا

    لحسين وهو المجد العريق

  77. أهل بيت بالمعالي شيدا

    وبه قد شيد البيت العتيق

  78. يا خليلي اشربا كأس الهنا

    والبسا ابراد بشر وفرح

  79. إن عرس المرتضى ارشفنا

    بالتهاني قدحاً بعد قدح

  80. دام بشرفيه قد نلنا المنى

    ما حمام الايك في الغصن صدح

  81. في نعيم العيش يبقى سرمدا

    أنسه في صحبة الدهر الشفيق

  82. فخذ الدر الذي قد نضدا

    يا خليلا هو بالدر حقيق
