فأين ساعد دين الله والعضد

My guiding light Abul Mahdi was a pillar of support

Where now are the aides of God's religion and its buttress?

فل الحمام حساماً في مضاربه

كانت جراثيم أهل الظلم تنحصد

So the pigeons have no sword among their dwellings

That would reap the seeds of the people of injustice

حلت بحامية الإسلام نائبة

والهفتاه فمال الركن والعمد

An affliction has befallen the defenders of Islam

And so the Cornerstone and the pillars have leaned and swayed

فكل عين غدير من مدامعها

وكل قلب سعير بالاسى يقد

Every eye sheds copious tears

And every heart is aflame with sorrow

لا تبعدن أبا المهدي آونة

وان منيت بقوم عنك قد بعدوا

Do not be gone long, oh Abul Mahdi

Even if a people have distanced themselves from you

وانهض بعزمك وهو السيف منفرداً

ان العظيم بسيف العزم ينفرد

Rise with your resolve, it is the sword alone

Truly the great rise with the sword of resolve alone

قد كان يومك معروفاً مآثره

فلا عليك إذا هم فضله جحدوا

Your day was known for its glorious deeds

So do not fret if they deny your superiority

ان سر نعيك قوماً لاخلاق لهم

فهز القذاة لعين الشرع والسهد

If the news of your death has saddened a people of no morals

Then shake the dust from the eye of Shariah and blaze the trail

اليوم قد رزء الإسلام مرزئة

كبرى تبيت لها الاحشاء تنقد

Today Islam has been slighted

A great slight that makes the viscera shudder

من للدروس التي آلت معالمها

إلى الدروس إذا طلابها حشدوا

Who now for the lessons whose landmarks have faded

That students would flock to when lessons were called?

من للمنابر يرقاها فيرسلها

فوائداً من فيوض العلم تطرد

Who now for the pulpits that he ascended and from which

He dispensed the overflowing fruits of knowledge?

يطوف خمس مئين حول منبره

وكلهم بارع بالفضل مجتهد

Five hundred would circle his pulpit

All proficient in merit and diligent

فآية الله تدعى تارة وإذا

تفاقم الخطب تدعى أيها الاسد

The Sign of God you were called at times, and when

Your sermons swelled, you were called oh lion!

جاهدت في الله تيجاناً قد انعقدت

على المظالم حتى انحل ما عقدوا

You fought crowns in the way of God that gathered

Against injustices until the knots were undone

فما تمثلت للمخلوع في حلم

الا رأى بك جيش الموت يحتشد

In your forbearance, you never envisioned

An unseated ruler except seeing the army of death gathering against you

كم باليراعة قد قومت ذا أود

فهي الثقاف لمن أضحى به أود

How often you supported the downtrodden

For it is the duty of those fallen to support the downtrodden

تصلى العدى لهباً منها إذا برقوا

يوماً وتمطرهم حتفاً إذا رعدوا

The enemies pray destruction when they scheme

And you rain death on them when they thunder

جهدت بالحق ان تعلو اشعته

كما أولئك في اطفائه جهدوا

You strove with truth to elevate its rays

As they strove to extinguish it

بثثت في جسد الإسلام روح علا

وكان رهن خمول ذلك الجسد

You breathed a lofty spirit into the body of Islam

While it was hostage to that lifeless body

فقد جذبت بضبع المسلمين إلى

أوج الرقي ولكن أعوز الأمد

You drew the Muslims' disposition toward

The peak of ascendance, but missed the chance

سعيت سعي حريص باتحادهم

حتى استجابوا لداعي الحق واتحدوا

You strove tirelessly to unite them

Until they responded to the caller of truth and united

وكان طوع مساعيك التي سلفت

لو كنت تبقى لنا المستقبل الرغد

Your past efforts would have borne

Fruitful outcomes had you remained, living in prosperity

ان انكرت يدك البيضاء طائفة

فالله خير شهيد انها ليد

If your fair hand denied a group

God is best witness that it is a hand

أغثت إيران حيث المستغيث بها

حشاشة ما لها صبر ولا جلد

You rescued Iran where victims sought refuge

From the utterly unforbearing and tough tyrants

للمستبدين فيها كل واقعة

منها فرائص أهل العدل ترتعد

For the unjust there every incident

Makes the people of justice shudder

فالمال منهبة والعرض معرضة

للهتك والخصم في استعمارها حرد

Wealth is plundered and honor violated

As the adversary annexes it aggressively

فقمت بالحق اشفاقاً على فئة

رأيتها رهن أيدي الجور تضطهد

You stood for truth, concerned for a faction

You saw subjugated under hands of injustice

وقد تأسيت بالماضين في محن

حتى وردت بها الورد الذي وردوا

Following former role models in ordeals

Until you attained the feat they attained

فالشرق بعدك يا شمس السعود غدا

مآتماً لك بالأحزان تنعقد

After you, oh sun of Saud, the East has become

A scene of mourning for you, aggregating sorrows

كانت حياتكم في الرزء سلوتنا

واليوم كل نعيم بعدكم نكد

Your lives were solace during tribulation

And now all comfort after you is misery

يا بدر داجية تجلى الخطوب به

إذا اكفهر ظلام سوف تفتقد

Oh full moon dispelling darkness when gloom descends

You shall be missed when adversity comes

لو ان شمس الضحى من نورك اقتبست

لم يخل من نورها أرض ولا بلد

If the sun derived its light from your light

No land or country would lack its brightness

لو استعار نداك الغيث في كرم

عم الرواء وفاض الجود والرفد

If the rain borrowed your generosity

Satiation and charity would encompass all

لو ان بيض الضبا من عزمك انطبعت

لم يغن عن دارع ان يحكم الزرد

If the white falcons took after your resolve

No coat of mail would avail if destined to be pierced

كنت الغريب غريب الوصف نادره

فمثل أيامك الأيام لا تلد

You were uniquely matchless in description

Your like shall not be born in eras to come

ان الوجود تحلى منك جوهرة

قدسية لا يداني فضلها احد

Surely existence was graced with a saintly gem through you

Whose merit no one can match

ما حط فضلك نقد الجاهلين به

بل كنت تزداد فضلا كلما نقدوا

The counterfeit change of the ignorant diminishes not your merit

But you gained more merit whenever they tried to demean

تثني عليك رجال الفضل كلهم

وما يعيبك الا الجهل والحسد

All the virtuous extol you

None disparage you but the ignorant and envious

حيى صنيع اياديك السحاب ثرى

اقام فيه التقى والعلم والرشد

The heavens rain goodness where your hands reached

Establishing piety, knowledge and integrity

وقدست تربة ضمت صفايحها

روحاً إلى الله في رضوانه تفد

And the earth you were laid to rest in was sanctified

A soul journeying to God in His contentment
