طلعت بغرة تحكي الهلالا
بأرض كنت أنت لها جمالا
The crescent rose relating tales
Of a land whose beauty was sublime
فأهلا بالمكارم والمعالي
نحييها ابتهاجا واحتفالا
So welcome oh you of great virtues
We greet you with joy and celebration
نعيم قد اتى من بعد بؤس
وهجر منك اعقبنا وصالا
Comfort came after misery
And separation from you brought us union
فنحن اليوم في عيش رغيد
صفا سلساله وضفا ظلالا
Today we live in ease and plenty
With chains of smoothness and shades of tranquility
بشمل مثل ما نهوى جميع
وعهد مسرة وافى اقتبالا
With a unity we always desired
And a blessed era of hopes fulfilled
فيا أرض الطفوف سموت قدراً
بطلعة قاسم وسعدت حالا
Oh land of generosity your worth has risen
With the advent of Qasim and better days
بأبيض في الذوائب من معد
اعدته المؤمل والثمالا
With a white pure of blemishes
Who fulfilled hopes and wishes
بأكرمهم واحفظهم عهوداً
وأحسنهم واطيبهم فعالا
Protect them, keep your word
Do good, stay on the righteous path
تعين المادحين له صفات
لذلك يحسنون به المقالا
Aid those who praise his traits
Let them speak well in poetry
اهان المال وهو اعز شيء
وأكرم نفسه شرفا وغالي
He shunned wealth, so highly prized
Yet esteemed his honor and dignity
وما ان غيرت منك الليالي
شمائلك الكريمة والخصالا
And as the nights changed you
Your noble ways remained the same
تغادر بلدة وتحل اخرى
فتحوي الحمر حلا وارتحالا
You left one town for another
Bearing gifts and departing
ففي سورية ابقيت ذكرا
على الشام العراق به استطالا
In Syria you left a memory
A legacy all of Sham holds dear
وفي دار السلام حللت داراً
تشد الوافدون لها الرحالا
In Dar us Salaam you made a home
That travelers journey far to be near
يمين منك قد خلقت لجوج
تسح ندى إذا هبت شمالا
Your right hand was made to be generous
Rain flows when it moves north
ولاقيت الشدائد باصطبار
وحلم قد وزنت به الجبال
You faced hardships with patience
And calm that could outweigh mountains
ومثلك في الزمان إذا تجنى
يكون لكل مكرمة مثالا
One like you in this age
Is a model for every generosity
أصاب الدهر رشدا بعد غي
وكانت عثرة ثم استقالا
Fate found its way after going astray
Stumbling then walking straight
وفي نقد الحوادث زدت فضلا
وصرف الدهر ينتقد الرجالا
In judging events you gained merit
As time tests all men's mettle
أعاد الله أيام التلاقي
وجمع شمل ألفتنا اتصالا
God returned the days of reunion
And unified our separated hearts
فمنا من دنا بعد انتزاح
عن الأوطان أعواماً طوالا
Some of us came close after being far
From our homelands for so long
ومنا مطلق من بعد اسر
يكابد فيه سجناً واعتقالا
While others were freed from captivity
Enduring prison and confinement
فلم يدنس علي سفر وسجن
لنا عرض ولم نركب ضلالا
Neither travel nor jail could stain
Our honor, we tread no crooked path
وقد كنا خفافا للمساعي
وان كنا على بعض ثقالا
We were light in our efforts
Though at times heavily burdened
ارى حساد مجدك في عناء
تضم صدورهم داء عضالا
I see jealous of your glory in pain
Harboring a grave sickness inside
إذا راموا محلك وهو سام
فأنهم يرومون المحالا
If they seek your high station
They desire the impossible
إذا ياسرت احرزت المعلى
وان اجريت احرزت المجالا
You attained the highest place
And if you walked you held the field
هنيئا أيها الأضحى هنيئا
فبالأشراق بشرك قد توالى
Congratulations oh radiant one, congratulations
For with the dawn, your fortune progressed
بقيت لنا بقاء البدر يسمو
سناً وتضيء طلعته كمالا
You remained for us like the rising moon
Growing, your ascent to perfection culminates
وتهتز البشائر والتهاني
بربعك وهي تختال اختيالا
Joy and salutations abound
For your era, in exultation
