لَسنا وَإِن كَرُمَت أَوائِلُنا

يَوماً عَلى الأَحسابِ نَتَّكِلُ

Though our beginnings were noble

In times when clans were held in awe

نَبني كَما كانَت أَوائِلُنا

تَبني وَنَفعَلُ مِثلَ ما فَعَلوا

We do not, as our ancestors did,

Build as they built, act as they acted
