سُرّت بتشريف الخديو دياره
من بعد فرط تشوّق وغرام
His lands rejoiced at the honor of the Khedive’s presence,
His dwelling-places rejoiced at the Khedive's ennobling presence,
after such intense yearning and ardent love.

والنيل وافاء النسيم مبشرا
فأتى يقبل موطئ الأقدام
