وأضرم الوجد بالتجافي

في القلب جمر الأسى وشبه

And kindled longing with estrangement

In the heart embers of grief and its flames

نار بذات الضلوع شبت

وأصل نار الغرام شبه

A fire ignited in the ribs

And the source of the fire of passion ignited
