Never do I mention you among people whose company I keep
Whenever I mention you among the people I sit with
without my affliction being renewed by the memory of you.
My sorrows about you are renewed
Nor do I think of drinking water when I thirst
And whenever I think to quench my thirst with water
without finding an image of you in the water.
I find an image of you in the water
Nor do I enter a place where you are not present
And whenever I am present in a place where you are absent
without feeling a languor throughout my limbs.
I find my limbs grow weary
Your love suffices me in place of my ease and repose,
Your love is enough for me out of my humility, my prayers,
and in place of my joy, my faith, and my worldly life.
My joy, my religion and my worldly affairs
