He walks in a dress of woven misfortune
Leaning on the bone of his leg, outstretched
Wrapped around his head is a turban of clouds
He cried his longing and yearned for the ruins
And called out with a groan and wailing
Who will bring bread for a heart filled with sorrow
And a soul longing for a little comfort
My soul cannot aspire to feasts
The value of weddings is lost to me
Give me a lute and tell that one to sing
I do not cry for lost dwellings
