Do you not see how the sun’s temper has softened,
Do you not see the sun unveiling her face?
and how the trees and boughs have put forth leaves?
The trees have donned their green coats, the branches their blossoms.
The tender narcissus—its blossoms are ready for gathering,
The tender narcissus is ready to be plucked,
as though they were eyes without eyelashes.
Like eyes without kohl.
As though it were silver rising above an emerald,
Like silver topping an emerald,
green—from which a pupil of gold smiles.
From which a gilded glance smiles.
