ما لقينا من أخي تيم

ومن أرجاف قومهِ

What we have suffered from this man of Taym,

We did not find my brother Taim

and from his people's false claims!

Or the leaders of his people.

كلَّما جئناه قالوا

شُغِلَ القاضي بصومهِ

شُغِلَ القاضي بصومهِ

Whenever we came to him, they said,

يجلس الخصم لديه

وهو في أطيب نومهِ

The litigant sits before him

While he is in deepest slumber.
