لما اتكلتَ على إلهك دائماً
كان الإله إليك خير معينِ
Because you have always placed your trust in your God,
Since you have leaned upon your God always,
God has been the best of helpers to you.
God has been to you the best of helpers,
وسقاك من صافي شراب وداده
وسقى العدوّ الكأس من غسلين
He gave you to drink from the pure draught of His love,
and He gave you to drink of the pure draught of His love,
And made the enemy drink a cup of ghislīn.
and gave the enemy the cup drawn from ghislīn.
وكذاك في الأخرى تكون مظفّراً
في جنّة المأوى بحور العين
And likewise, in the Hereafter, you shall be dust-covered,
And so too in the life to come you shall be granted triumph,
In the Garden of Refuge, among the wide-eyed houris.

لم تسع في ضرر امرئٍ لكنما
سعواك في إصلاح ذات البين
You did not strive to harm a single person; rather,
You never strove to bring harm upon any man; rather,
Your striving was to reconcile people.
your striving went to mending what lay between people.
واللَه جلّ جلاله مع من غدا
في نصحه للناس خير أمين
And God—exalted be His majesty—is with whoever proves himself
And God — majestic is His majesty — is with the one who has become,
In counseling the people, an excellent and trustworthy guide.
in his sincere counsel to the people, the best of trustees.
لا زلت محروس الجناب موفقاً
في حفظ دنيانا وحفظ الدين
May you ever remain protected in person and granted success
May you never cease, guarded in person and domain, granted success,
In safeguarding our worldly life and safeguarding the faith.
