1. الحمد لله المعزّ الخافضِ

    إذ بات ذو التقوى بعيشٍ خافضِ

    Praise be to Allah, the Exalter, the Abaser

    When the pious slept in humble dwellings

  2. المؤمن المهيمنِ الستارِ

    والملك المقتدر القهّار

    The Believer, the All-Powerful, the Veiler

    And the Omnipotent King, the Vanquisher

  3. أحمده وهو حَرٍ بكل ما

    يحمده العبد على ما أنعما

    I praise Him while free of all

    That a servant praises for the blessings he bestowed

  4. وهو الذي أنقذنا من كل شر

    ومن ظلومٍ بأسه قد أنتشر

    He who saved us from all evil

    And from the oppression of His Might that spread

  5. ثم الصلاة والسلام الأسنى

    على الذي ربي عليه أثنى

    Then infinite peace and blessings

    Upon the one whom I highly praised

  6. من بالعطايا قد غدا محبورا

    من ربّه وبالصَّبا منصورا

    Whose gifts made him blessed

    By his Lord, and victorious in his youth

  7. كذاك بالرعب إذا الخَطبُ هجم

    وعثير الوغا علاثمّة أزدحم

    When serious matters loomed

    And the horns of calamities gathered

  8. محمد ذي المكرمات والوفا

    وآله المستكملين الشرفا

    Muhammad, of noble traits and loyalty

    And his family of perfected honor

  9. وصحبه الذين فضلهم أتى

    في النظم والنثر الصحيح مثبتا

    And his companions whom His favor distinguished

    In prose and authentic poetry

  10. قد جاهدوا لنصر دين اللَه

    ودافعوا عنه بلا اشتباه

    They strove to champion God's religion

    And defended it without doubt

  11. في وقعة الأحزاب يوم الخندق

    كم تركوا عدوّهم في حنق

    At the Battle of the Trench when foes besieged

    See how many they left in distress

  12. وهو إذاً بكل بلوى قد بُلي

    مروّع القلب قليل الحِيَل

    While he was tried with every affliction

    His heart frightened, plans few

  13. كم حافظوا وشيّدوا الثغورا

    فالدين لم يبرح بهم منصورا

    How they protected and manned the outposts

    Until the religion remained supported

  14. وسهروا الأعين في الحنادس

    حتى أبانوا قبساً عن قابس

    They stayed up through the night in garrisons

    Until the dawn broke from the darkness

  15. فعَّم فضلُهم على الترتيب

    وناف قدرُهم على القريب

    Their excellence spread in order

    Their status soared over both near and far

  16. فلم يكن في الخَلق من رفيق

    أولى به الفضل من الصدِّيق

    Among all people no companion

    Was worthier of virtue than the Siddiq

  17. وفضله لمن تصدى للإبا

    ميّز كأكرم بأبي بكر أبا

    His superiority to the first caliph

    Distinguished like the best father

  18. كذلك الفاروق ذو الشجاعة

    والمنطق العدل وذو البراعة

    Similarly Al-Farooq, the brave

    The just, eloquent, and able

  19. فاق على أمثاله إفضالُه

    وقد مضت محمودةً أفعالهُ

    His favor surpassed his peers

    His deeds have passed as praised

  20. أن كنت ترجو يا فتى أن تغنما

    فلهما كن أبداً مقدِّما

    If you seek gain, O youth

    Always put them first

  21. كذاك ذو النورين والإحسان

    زاكي النجار جامع القرآن

    Also the Possessor of Two Lights and benevolence

    The pure-hearted, collector of the Quran

  22. وكل لفظ صيغ للمفاخر

    كطاهر القلب جميل الظاهر

    And every word carefully composed

    Like the pure-hearted, beautiful externally

  23. فهو به يا صاح أولى وأحَق

    كما لسان فضله بذا نطق

    He has the greatest right, my friend

    As his tongue's favor has declared

  24. كذلك أبن عمّ خير الرُسُلِ

    الباسل الصنديد مولانا علي

    Similarly the Prophet's cousin

    The valiant, firm, our Master Ali

  25. أثبتُ في الهيجاء يا ذا من أُحُد

    أردى كماة الكفر كأبن عبدِ وُد

    I state at Ohod he felled

    The unbelievers like the son of Ubayd, Al-Wadee

  26. فكن على غيرهمُ مفضلاً

    وركّه تزكية وأجمِلا

    So be prejudiced against no other

    Appraise him highly and beautifully

  27. كذاك باقي الصَّحب والقرابة

    أهل الثبات صاحبي الإصابة

    Similarly the remainder of the companions and kin

    The people of certainty and marksmanship

  28. فَفضلُهم لقد أتى وهو العلي

    في الخبر المُثبتِ والأمر الجلي

    Their excellence is supreme

    In confirmed accounts and clear command

  29. ما بقي الإسلام في ظهور

    كذا مدى الأحقاب والدهور

    As long as Islam remains supported

    Throughout the ages and times

  30. بعد السلام الوافر الغزير

    على النجيب الحافظ البصيري

    After abundant greetings

    Upon the noble, vigilant, insightful

  31. أشعَر أهل العصر والأوان

    أفصح من قسّ ومن سحبان

    The most eloquent of his time

    More articulate than Qays and Suhban

  32. إنّي قد اشتقتُ إلى لقاهُ

    وقد وددتُ أنني أراهُ

    I long to meet him

    And wish to see him

  33. حتى بدت لفضله أوصافُ

    يعجز عن إحصائها الوُصّافُ

    Until his virtues became manifest

    Beyond the describers' enumeration

  34. وقائل تسمع بالمُعيدي

    خير من الرؤية يا سُوَيدي

    One said, "Hearing praise is better, my friend

    Than seeing, O Suwaydi."

  35. فقلت ما تعني بذا وفضلهُ

    محقّق عندي وهذا قوله

    I said, "What do you mean, and his merits

    Are verified to me, thus he spoke."

  36. قد صرت أنهي مدحه مفصّلا

    للمح ما قد كان عنه نقلا

    I have ended praising him in detail

    Only briefly conveying what was transmitted of him

  37. يا أيها البارع يا من قد سما

    وقد حوى الافضالَ والتقدّما

    O excellent one, O elevated

    Embodying all favors and precedence

  38. ما هذه الأرجوزة السنيّة

    ما هذه الرائقة الشهيّة

    What is this delightful

    And pleasant Arabic ode?

  39. تكاد أن تكون في ذا الرَّبط

    فائقةً ألفية أبن معطي

    It almost surpasses Al-Awfee's thousand lines

    Eclipsing the poetry of eloquent Arabs

  40. نافت على أشعار مصقاع العرب

    كذا على أنثار أصحاب الأدب

    And the prose of the literary

    Without extra words or terse phrasing

  41. والحشوَ في بيانها لم تُحرز

    تقرّب الأقصى بلفظٍ موجز

    Every carefully selected word

    Contains a perfect statement

  42. فكل لفظٍ مفرزِ معناه عَم

    وكلمةٍ بها كلام قد يؤم

    And it comprises rhetorical aims

    While including grammatical meanings

  43. وهي لدى بيان ذي القضيّة

    مقاصد النحو بها محويّة

    It is therefore unparalleled in its superiority

    Worthy to be written in gold

  44. فهي إذاً عن فضلها لم تُفرد

    يحقُّ أن نكتبها بالعسجد

    You mentioned the Battle of the Trench

    It accurately depicts it without doubt

  45. ذكرتَ فيها وقعة الأحزاب

    فهي تحاكيها بلا ارتياب

    You spoke truthfully

    Which I know to be correct

  46. وأنت فيما قلته مُصدَّق

    فذاك عندي ما هو المحقّق

    Yes, the transgressing armies came upon you

    And the tyrannical factions resolved against you

  47. نعم أتتكم الجنود الباغية

    ويّممتكم الفئات الطاغية

    They entered your towns with ill intent

    And captured the women under your protection

  48. ودخوا بعزمهم قراكم

    وأسَروا نساء مَن والاكم

    They left no latecomer or early vanguard

    No weak or strong

  49. لم يتركوا من آخرٍ وسابقٍ

    وشدقم وهيلة وواشق

    They besieged you

    And directed their arrows at you

  50. وحاصروكم حصاراً أشتهر

    ناوين معنى كائنٍ أو أستقر

    They were embroiled and cunning

    Launching shafts in multitudes

  51. ودام ضرب الطوب والمدافع

    بينكمُ بغير ما مدافع

    Then they approached seeking victory

    At the most pressing and dire hour

  52. وأرسلوا قُنبُرَهم مثل المطر

    ولم يكن عدده قد انحصر

    While you stood firmer than mountains

    Stationed atop the walls

  53. تصدُق إذ أخبرتنا جهاراً

    دنوا فأمطروا علينا نارا

    Your chieftain urged you in the garrison

    "O son of my mother, O son of my uncle, there is no escape"

  54. وبقروا بأرضكم لقوما

    ليهتكوا عرضكم المكتوما

    So you rose like angry lions

    By God, you are like she-lions protecting their cubs

  55. ورفعوا إليكمُ السلالما

    ووجّهوا إليكمُ الضياغما

    The smashing of skulls against skulls persisted

    And every defiant unbeliever attacked

  56. ورطنوا ما بينهم وحاصوا

    وبالدِّلاص المسردات غاصوا

    The battle raged under its lords

    While you knew it best

  57. ثم دنوا منكم ليبتغوا الظَفَر

    وكانت الساعة أدهة وأمَر

    You felled the unbelievers with bright swords

    And polished lethal blades

  58. وأنتم أثبت من ثَهلان

    مرابطين ذِروة الجدران

    You removed the helmets from the bodies

    Of the enemies in the arena of battle

  59. قد حرضتكم غيدكم على المقَر

    في يا أبن أُمّ يا أبن عمّ لا مفر

    In a hall where blood flowed

    Like springs before their eyes

  60. فقُمتم كالأُسد من شَراها

    تاللَه أنتم كَهَيَ في حماها

    A dreadful, dusty melee

    Its ground and sky the color of carnage

  61. ودام فلق البيضِ في الجماجم

    وهامِ كل كافر مقاوم

    By God, you were granted victory

  62. واشتدت الحرب على أربابها

    وأنتمُ دون الورى أدرى بها

    So all harm was removed from you

    The enemies fled from you in escape

  63. صرعتم الكفار بالرواصعِ

    وبالمهند الصقيل القارع

    Without gaining any ground

    The King's sorrow intensified

  64. أزلتم الهام عن الجثمان

    من العدى في لُجَّة الميدان

    While he remained hidden on the elephant

    Earlier in wars he was indeed

  65. في قاعة جَرت بها الدماء

    جداولاً عيونها الأعداء

    Victorious, though undeservedly

    But now the religious and noblest

  66. ومهمهٍ مغبّرةٍ أرجاؤه

    كأن لونَ أرضه سماؤه

    Opposed him, so he came to his senses

    The treacherous villain

  67. واللَه قد حفكّم بالنصر

    فزال عنكمُ جميعُ الضُرّ

    The immoral combatant, the unjust aggressor

    Thought he would overcome by power and might

  68. فولّوا الأعداء عنكم هربا

    وما قضوا من الدنوّ أربا

    And seize the land up to Mosul

    Enslave women and children

  69. وأشتد حزن الشاه عن فليلِ

    ولم يزل مستتراً بالفيل

    And kill men and youths

    His hopes failed throughout time

  70. قد كان قبلاً في الحروب حقاً

    يغلب لكن ليس مستحقا

    It only led him to loss

    O foreign barbarians

  71. والآن أهل الدين والأعرفُ به

    بعكس ذاك استعملوه فأنتبه

    Transgressors, scoundrels, be fair!

    Are you like the Ottoman's sons?

  72. ظَنَّ الغادر اللئيمُ

    الفاجر المحارب الظلومُ

    Or know war and spears?

    Such that you refuse their challenge

  73. أن يغلب السلطان قدراً وعُلى

    ويأخذ البلاد حتى المَوصلا

    To battle and duel in the fray?

    Your scorpion stung the viper

  74. ويأسر النساء والصبيانا

    ويقتل الرجال والشبّانا

    The chicks arrogantly challenged the hen

    The people of Mosul the Humped

  75. قد خاب ظنّه مدى الزمان

    ما دلّه إلاّ على خسران

    Brought you utter ruin

    Most of you dwell in holes

  76. يا أيها الأعاجم الزعانفُ

    والمعتدون الأرذلون أنصفوا

    Wretched, while few of you suffer

    How if legions came upon you

  77. هل أنتمُ مثل بني عثمانا

    أو تعرفون الضرب والطعانا

    Like mountains and bastions

    As if they were lions emerging for spoils

  78. حتى ترموا منهم المبارزة

    في لجة الهيجاء والمناجزة

    Whose army on battle days cannot be defeated

    Those who on days of war

  79. تحكَّكت عقربكم بالأفعى

    واستنت الفصال حتى القرعا

    Spilled seas of red blood

    God granted them victory

  80. هذا وأهل الموصل الحدباء

    قد جلبوا لكم جميع الداء

    And protected them from all evil

    Rejoice, you have obtained from your Lord

  81. وسكن الأكثر منكم في الحفر

    أكتع والنادر منكم في ضرر

    A reward for this deed you have done

    You protected Islam with Islam

  82. فكيف لو جاءتكم الجحافل

    كأنها الأطواد والمعاقل

    Nay, with spearheads and swords

    You shielded your honor from harm

  83. كأنهم في الحرب والمصادمة

    ليوث غاب خرجت لمغنمة

    So it remained untouched by filth

    With spears and polished blades

  84. خميسهم يوم الوغى لا يغلب

    وجمعهم منه الأعادي تهربُ

    You guarded the throat of a maiden or spirited youth

    May God reward you and your town

  85. أولئكم قوم لدى الهيجاء

    كم سفكوا من أحمرالدماء

    Your chief Abu Murad, your bold one

    How he made the enemies drink the cup of death

  86. أيّدهم ربّ العباد بالظَفَر

    ولم يزل حافظهم من كل شَر

    When they approached you without stealth

    Neither seditions nor calamities frightened him

  87. فالسيف أن تسأله فضلهم نطق

    والغرض الآن بيان ما سبق

    Rather, he persistently endured hardship

    Similarly his minister, the perfect

  88. أحسنتمُ يا أهل تلك المَوصل

    في قصّكم جناح هذا الأخيل

    Lethal lion, valiant hero

    They joined in protection and guarding

  89. قريتم الطير بأشلاء العدى

    والوحش لم يبرح شكوراً أبدا

    And seriousness, discretion and politics

    They continue to strive

  90. أحسنتم في جعلكم قبورا

    لهم وحوش الأرض والطيورا

    Lowering the foe with resolve

    Serious in guarding the lovely slave-girls

  91. حفظتمُ طهارة الصحراء

    عن جثث البغاة والأعداء

    With every polished and sharp sword

    They are only like a fierce lion

  92. بشراكم قد نلتم من ربّكم

    جزاء أخبارٍ بهذا فعلكم

    Protecting its cubs from all

    They still stand against spears

  93. حميتم الإسلام بالأسلام

    بل بالردينيّ وبالحسام

    With the brown spear, strong-toothed

    And burning muskets

  94. وصنتمُ عِرضَكمُ عن الأذى

    فلم يزل منزّهاً عن القذى

    And shining, splitting swords

    Until the fray intensified and spread

  95. حفظتم بالرمح والصقيل

    نحرَ فتاةٍ أو فتىً كحيل

    Shouting "For God!" attacking on both flanks

    They turned to the battlefield while the enemies

  96. للّه درّكم ودرّ قرمكم

    رئيسكم أبي مرادٍ شهمكم

    Fled when blood was spilled

    I distinguished them with merit and praise

  97. كم جرَّع الأعداءَ كأس الحتف

    حين دنوا منكم بلا تخفّي

    While joining others with kinship

    You mentioned their superiority, O keen-eyed one

  98. ولم تَرُعه الحادثات والنُوَب

    بل لم يزل جلداً مكابد الكرب

    Though you did not cite the famed

    Congratulations, your aftermath is praised

  99. كذاك تِربُه الوزير الكاملُ

    الفاتك الليث الجسور الباسل

    And your misfortunes have been dispelled from you

    Boast for eternity

  100. توافقا شجاعة بل أسما

    وحَسَباً من النجوم أسمى

    Over all cities and lands

    Except over us, O people of valor

  101. وأقترنا في الحفظ والحراسة

    والجدّ والحزم كذا السياسة

    Do not boast in this profession

    For you were taught by us

  102. فلا يزالون مجاهَدين

    ويعملان الخفض مصدرَين

    We opened this door for you

    No doubt in this and no uncertainty

  103. جدّا بحفظ الغانيات الهيَّفِ

    بكل بتّار صقيلٍ مرهف

    And some people may be specifically mentioned

    When this door was with a different people

  104. فما هما إلاّ كليث ذي لبد

    محافظاً شراه عن كل أحد

    Do not grieve at the boasting, nay, at all traits

    For complete merit is due to precedence

  105. ولا يزالون على الطعان

    بالسمهريّ الأسمر السنان

    Our steadfastness on the greatest siege day

    Did you see its like in eras?

  106. وبالبنادق الشداد الحارقة

    وبالسيوف الفالقات البارقة

    When the enemy surrounded the city

    And bricks besieged us, thundering

  107. إلى أن أشتدّ الوغى وامتدّا

    وقائلٍ واعبديا واعَبدا

    We repelled them with spears

    And bricks defended our eminence

  108. تولّيا الميدانَ والأعداءُ

    قد هربوا إذ سُفِكَ الدماء

    Their bricks and projectiles did not cease

    Breaking our enemies, every hero

  109. خُصَّهما بالفضل والمباهلة

    وما سواهما فوسِطَه صلة

    Each day we are in combat

    With two horsemen or footmen

  110. فَضلَهما ذكرتَ يا أبا النظر

    لكن ما ذكرتَ غشوماً أشتهر

    We were in the melee below the dust

    With Heraclius’ and Alexander's resolve

  111. بشراكمُ قد حُمِدت عقباكمُ

    وقد أزيلت عنكم أسواكمُ

    We were in this most difficult siege

    Guarding the wall for seven months

  112. وافتخروا فخراً مدى الزمانِ

    على جميع المدن والبلدان

    Provisions ran out and most died

    Of hunger, yet we did not weaken or tire

  113. إلاَ علينا يا أولي الشجاعة

    لاتفخروا في هذه الصناعة

    We ran out of two handfuls of rice

    And some honey and dates

  114. لأنكم منّا لقد عُلّمتم

    حسنَ الثبات بل قد استفدتم

    So we fed our horses, camels

    Donkeys and mules with it

  115. نحن فتحنا لكم ذا البابا

    لا شكَّ في هذا ولا ارتيابا

    As for the lesser siege, we saw in it

    Every discord, yet no weakness or waning

  116. وقد يُخَصّ في أناس لم تجد

    ذا الباب وهو عِند قوم يطَّرد

    Rather, ever guarding the wall

    How can we fear the enemies' snarls?

  117. حُزنا الفخار بل جميع الشِّيمَ

    لأن كل الفضل للتقدُّم

    When we have the valiant, resourceful one

    And the generous man among us

  118. ثباتُنا يوم الحصار الأكبر

    أريتم أمثاله في الأعصر

    How can we fear their flock if it approached

    And the Prophet's follower is with us?

  119. حيث العدوّ قد أحاط بالبلد

    وطوبه حاص علينا ورَعَد

    How much can we boast to the enemies?

    We are only followers of Ahmad

  120. فصدَّرته سُمرنا عن بيضنا

    وردعته البيض عن حضيضنا

    Your steadfastness in this great siege

    And your war against all the tribes

  121. والطوب والقُنبرُ منا لم يَزَل

    يقصِم من أعدائنا كل بطل

    Is the way of the best minister, Ahmad

    And every clan emulated his traits

  122. وكل يوم نحن في قتالِ

    معهم بفارسَين أو رجالِ

    Your boldness in this deed, the good deed

    Observed the proper sequence, so it was deemed good

  123. ونحن في الهيجاء تحت العثير

    في عزمة الهرقل والإسكندر

    Ahmad's deeds in what he instituted

    In every case he was most conforming

  124. ونحن في هذا الحصار الأعسر

    محافظون السورَ سبعة أشهر

    He surpassed every king and minister

    In good conduct and management

  125. ونفذ الزاد ومات الأكثرُ

    جوعاً ولم نَذِلَّ بل لا نضجر

    Therefore the Sultan heeded his merit

    And entrusted him with everything

  126. وقد عَدِمنا حفنتين بُرّا

    ومنوَين عسلاً وتمرا

    He chose what the son of Hassan chose

    Ahmad of singular acts in the age

  127. فأكلُنا للخيل والجمال

    كذاك للحمير والبغال

    Be it peace or war as duty required

    And he was originally selected for both

  128. هذا وأمّا في الحصار الأصغرِ

    فقد رأينا فيه كل الكدَرِ

    He embodied three traits not found

    In others, so he was unique in them

  129. ولم نر الخمولَ والفتورا

    بل دائماً محافظون السورا

    The sword, management, and nobility

    The three necessitate a binding decree

  130. وكيف نخشى صولة الأعادي

    وعندنا الشجاع ذوا الأيادي

    So be devoted to him, singularly

    Praise and gather others, yet single him out

  131. وكيف نخشى سربهم وإن دنا

    ورجلٌ من الكرام عندنا

    If you wish to enumerate prey with good traits

    Noble lineage and generosity

  132. وكم بأقوال نفاخر العِدا

    فما لنا إلا أتّباع أحمدا

    Then start by mentioning the favored King

    And put the most intimate first in order

  133. ثباتكم في ذا الحصار الهائِل

    وحربكم لجملة القبائلِ

    He who risked himself to protect us

    And opposed all who showed enmity to us

  134. سنّة خير الوزراءِ أحمدا

    وكل قَرم بخصاله أقتدى

    He who guarded us from harm

    Prevailed over the enemies, grasping

  135. وشهمكم في فعله الفعلَ الحَسن

    راعى في الاتباع المحلَّ فحسن

    So hear of his feats, proven to you

    And what is narrated of his manner toward his Lord He assaulted his enemies like a massive mountain

  136. لأحمَد الأفعال فيما أسّ َسا

    فهو به في كل حكمٍ ذو اتسّا

    And his right hand held the swords

    On the day of battle with the Persian king

  137. قد فاق كلَّ ملكٍ وزيرِ

    في حُسن سيرةٍ وفي تدبير

    How many heroes he destroyed and broke!

    It cannot be fathomed, from what is reported

  138. لِذلك السلطانُ راعى فضله

    وفوّض الأمر إليه كُلّه

    How much he has in verse and prose on battle!

    How often he made them drink the cup of death and calamity!

  139. وأختار ما يختاره أبن الحَسنِ

    أحمدُ أفعالٍ فريدُ الزمن

    When he came upon them thundering

    Like the best saying, "Ahmad is with you"

  140. من سلمٍ أو حربٍ على الذي يجب

    وكونه أصلاً لهذين انتُخب

    When he entered the fray like a planted mountain,

    The King fled and took cover behind his horse

  141. حوى ثلاثَ شيمٍ لا توجَدُ

    في غيره فهو بها منفرد

    Everyone escaped without hesitation

    Like Al-Fadl, Al-Harith and Al-Nu'man

  142. السيفَ والتدبيرَ والمكارما

    ثلاثُهنّ تقضي حكماً لازما

    How many invasions of rebels did he conquer!

    How often did he defeat the transgressor with a patrol!

  143. فكن له في فضله موَحّدا

    وَثَنِّ وأجمع غيره وافردا

    He emulated his father in battle and nobility

    One who resembles his father is not unjust

  144. وإن عَددتَ الصيد في حُسنِ الشيم

    والحسب العالي الرفيع والكرم

    Baghdad flourished when it felt secure through him

    While other cities envied it

  145. فابدأ بذكر الملك المفضال

    وقَدّمِ الأخصَّ في اتّصالِ

    If you want a description of this Imam

    From these lines and prose,

  146. فهو الذي بنفسه حَمانا

    قِدماً وعادى كلَّ من عادانا

    A tenth of his merit I have not attained

    Though many attributes have been stated

  147. وهو بحفظه لنا عن الأذى

    لقد سما على العدى مستحوذا

    But I wanted to make truth from me dependent on wisdom

    Not fully disclosing the blessings

  148. فأقبل حديثي قد أتاك مُثبَتا

    وما روَوا من نحو رُبَّهُ فتى

    For every king and prey compared to him

    Are like the mob and few contrary to what I presented

  149. سطا على أعدائه في جحفل

    وشُغِلَت يمينهُ بالأسَلِ

    Or for certain people remain protected

    Throughout time from every resentful weakling

  150. في يوم حرب الشاه غزوة العجم

    فكم أباد بطلاً وكم قصَم

    Then infinite prayers and peace

    Upon the noblest Prophet

  151. وقامت الحرب على ساقٍ حُسِر

    وما لا تَقِس على الذي منه أُثِر

    Muhammad, blessed with tranquility

    And all who were present in Medina

  152. فكم له نظم ونَثرٌ في العدى

    وكم سقاهم كأسَ حتفٍ ورَدى

    Their followers successively

    And the composer of this ode

  153. كم راعهم حين أتاهم يرعد

    في نحو خير القول فيَّ احمدُ

    Seeking the reward of the Benevolent King

    The worshipper, son of Suwaydi

  154. إذ ولج الميدان كالطود أنغَرَس

    ولّوا وظَلَّ الشاه يحمى بالفَرَس

    When the cavalry stood for the struggle

    To champion the religion of God in contest

  155. وهرب الكلّ بلا تواني

    كالفضل والحارث والنعمان

  156. كم غزوة غزا البغاة فنُصِر

    وكم سرّية بها الباغي قهر

  157. حكى أباه في الوغى وفي الكرم

    ومن يشابه أبَه فما ظلم

  158. تاهت به إذ أمِنت بغدادُ

    وحَسَدتها المدن والبلاد

  159. إن كنتَ تبغي وصف ذا الإمامِ

    من هذه السطور والأرقام

  160. فعُشرُ عُشرِ فضله ما حصَّلَت

    وإن نعوتٌ كثرت وقد تلت

  161. لكن أردتُ دون أظهاري النعم

    تبيينيَ الحقَّ منوطا بالحِكَم

  162. فكلّ مالك وكل أصيَدِ

    بنسبةٍ إليه هم كالحَشد

  163. ونادرٌ وذو اضطرارٍ غير ما

    قدّمّته أو لأناسٍ انتما

  164. لا زال محفوظاً مدى الزمان

    من شرّ كل حاسدٍ معيان

  165. ثم من الصلاة والسلام

    أزكاهما على النبي الإمامِ

  166. محمد المحبور بالسكينة

    وكل من حاضر في المدينة

  167. وتابعيهمُ على التوالي

    كذا على ناظم ذي اللآلي

  168. راجي ثواب الملك المنان

  169. ما قامت الفرسان للمجادلة

    لنصر دين اللَه في المباهلة
