With a complainant, and tears flowing readily,
The rocks around her wet with water,
And Hamman saw after the loss of its companions,
Us, as desolate ruins.
As if between Al-Hajun and As-Safa,
There had never been a friend, nor had there ever stayed in Mecca a night companion.
So I said to her, while my heart was as if
A bird was kissing it among my ribs:
"Yes, we were its family, but we were destroyed by
The turns of nights and pitiless misfortunes."
