أنستُ بِوَحدَتي حتَّى لَو أنِّي
رأيتُ الأنسَ لاستوحَشتُ مِنهُ
I have grown so at ease with solitude that, were I
to encounter companionship, I would recoil from it as something strange.
ولم تَدع التَّجاربُ لي صَديقاً
أميلُ إِلَيهِ إلا مِلتُ عَنهُ
Experience has left me not a single friend
toward whom I incline without then turning away.
