1. Robes of praise are mine, and I do

    not see anyone but you fit to wear them.

  2. Robes of honor never cease

    to be displayed upon you in assemblies.

  3. Their ṭirāz embroidery bears some of what

    the emir Abū al-Fawāris commanded.

  4. Though I have been preceded in coming to

    you by hopeful petitioners, I do not despair.

  5. Since your bounty, between us,

    O lord of eminence, is judge—then compare our claims.
