الليلُ أخفَى لما يُرادُ ومِن
ذلِكَ شَيءٌ أَرادَه الفَلَكُ
Night best conceals what is intended—and of
The night concealed what was intended
that, there was something the heavens desired
And the heavens willed something of that
في لَيلةٍ لَم تَدُر مَخافَة أَن
يُدرِكهُ صُبحُها فَيَنهَتِكُ
on a night that did not revolve, for fear that
On a night not fearing the dawn would arrive
its dawn might overtake it and lay it bare.
And expose its secret intent
