شاقَني أنَّها عَشيَّة بانَت
أمرَت طَرفَها بِأمرٍ طَريفِ
She stirred my longing when, one evening, she departed,
She tormented me, for at dusk
having charged her glance with a charming command.
She bid her glances do something charming—
حينَ أغرَتهُ بي فَأَغرَت من الحر
صِ ضَعيفاً واهي القُوى بِضَعيفِ
When she urged it toward me, then, out of eager—
When she seduced me with her eyes, she seduced
—ness, she lured one weak and failing in strength with a languid glance.
