تُهدِّدُني بتَصارِيفها

فأينَ المَعالي وفُرقانُها

With its fluctuations it threatens me,

Where is its glory and distinction?

وراحَتُهُ لم تزَل سُحبُها

يسحُّ عَلى الدَّهر تَهتانُها

Its ease has not ceased to be its clouds

Sprinkling over the ages its deviations.

وسُلطانُه في تَصارِيفها

عَزيزٌ إذا عزَّ سُلطانُها

And its authority in its fluctuations

Is mighty when its authority is mighty.

تُراها تُقاومُني بَعدَ ذا

وقد عَظُمت وعَلا شانُها

You see it resisting me after this

When it has grown great and its affair is exalted.

أبا نَصرٍ ادرِك بنصرٍ فقَد

أتَت بالحَوادثِ أزمانُها

O Abu Nasr, attain victory with a victory, for

Its times have come with the events.
