Love taught me that I have power over her

Your eyes tell me that I am patient with youth

People believe and disbelieve about you

I have in your love both blamer and excuser

Your eyes have not seen an apathetic body

Except that the flaw of that is an apathetic glance

And if you pass by a weeping eye, blood

Out of sorrow, nothing makes it weep but a glance

O enchanter of glances, not only me

I who charm myself out of their grip, am an enchanter

If I am patient with the ardors, my heart returns me

It fans me with them and wakes early

Settled in my heart when they settle

And traveling with them when they travel

So if they keep faith with me in affection, it keeps faith with it

And if they betray, the heart is a betrayer

And if it seeks refuge, do not give it refuge from determination

And know that the refugee is unjust

O substitutes of fate, enough, shorten

My hand weakened, and the supporter said little

If one care is enough for you against me

Then I, when counted, am the tenth

O you who carry his bier, be gentle with his litter

For God, in that litter, there are mysteries

And a visitor to his grave would wish from what is in it

That the countries are filled with their graves
