1. O grave, do you know whom you have embraced,

    and over whom your sides have closed?

  2. Ṣāliḥ—his deeds shine radiant,

    and from their radiance your lamps take light.

  3. For within your depths lies the noblest of men;

    your slabs have been laid above it.

  4. And from the sweetness of his wafted perfume,

    your breezes breathe forth fragrant sweetness.

  5. And you shall ever remain—for God is merciful—

    within the mercy of God that enfolds you.

  6. After death he has come to dwell here.

    Mark the date: “In gardens of eternity is your Ṣāliḥ.”
