1. Indeed, by your life, this is a grave wherein

    lies Ṣāliḥ—righteous in his life and in death:

  2. Ṣāliḥ by name and righteous in deed; he passes away,

    but his are the deeds that endure among righteous works,

  3. through noble virtues and qualities

    that testified to his nobility of soul.

  4. Death overtook him while he was yet alive,

    so he died—and that came after death.

  5. He entered the Garden of Bliss; so inscribe its date:

    “Ṣāliḥ, you have taken up residence in the Gardens.”
