1. هُنِّيت بالفرمان والنيشانِ

    من جانب المَلِك العظيم الشانِ

    I was honored with the royal decree and insignia

    From the side of the great and eminent king

  2. ملكٌ إذا عُدَّ الملوك وَجَدْتَها

    من دونه بالعزِّ والسلطان

    A king, if you count all kings, you will find

    None can match his might and authority

  3. متفردٌ في العالمين وواحدٌ

    بين الأنام فما له من ثان

    Unique in the worlds and peerless

    Among the people, he has no equal

  4. وتقول إنْ أبْصَرْته في موكبٍ

    أسَدُ الأُسودِ بحومَةِ الميدان

    It is said that if you saw him in procession

    The lion of lions in the battleground

  5. خَلَبَ القلوبَ جمالهُ وجلالُهُ

    فجلالهُ وجمالهُ سيَّان

    His beauty and majesty captivated hearts

    So his majesty and beauty are twinned

  6. نَعِمَتْ بدولته البلاد وأشرقَتْ

    إشراقَ دين الله في الأَديان

    The lands prospered under his rule and shone

    With the radiance of God's religion in faiths

  7. وأمَدَّها من سيرةٍ نبويَّةٍ

    في حكمةٍ بالأَمنِ والإِيمانِ

    Guided by prophetic wisdom

    In governance, security and faith

  8. ولقد أعزَّ الدِّين دينَ محمَّد

    عبد العزيز بملكه الخاقاني

    Indeed he strengthened Muhammad's religion

    Abdulaziz, through his universal kingship

  9. ولقد تلافى الله فيه عبادَه

    فالناس منه بحوزةٍ وأمان

    God brought together his servants through him

    So people are protected and secured through him

  10. فبالله يعلم والبريَّة كلُّها

    أنَّ المليك خليفةُ الرحمن

    By God, the whole world knows

    That the king is the caliph of the Merciful

  11. كالشمس في كبد السماء وضوؤها

    يغشى بكلِّ النفع كلَّ مكان

    Like the sun at the zenith of the sky, his brilliance

    Illuminates every place with all that is good

  12. قد كانَ سِرُّ اللطف فيه مكتَّماً

    حتَّى استبان وضاقَ بالكتمان

    The secret of grace in him was hidden

    Until it became clear, stifled in secrecy

  13. ولقد أراد الله في تأييده

    أن يرجعَ الطاغين بالخذلان

    God willed in his support

    The tyrants will return in humiliation

  14. وإذا نظرت إلى طويَّة ذاته

    نظراً إلى المعروف والإِحسان

    If you look at his noble self

    Considering kindness and benevolence

  15. أيقَنْتَ أنَّ وجوده لوجودنا

    كالماء يَنْقَعُ غلَّةَ الظَّمآن

    You will know his existence is for our existence

    Like water that quenches the thirsty

  16. ملك إذا زخرَتْ بحار نواله

    يُخشى على الدُّنيا من الطوفان

    A king whose seas of gifts overflow

    Fearing the Deluge for the world

  17. فاقَتْ بنو عثمان في سلطانها

    بالدِّين والدُّنيا بني ساسان

    The Ottomans attained in his sultanate

    Religion and life like the Persians

  18. فَتَحوا البلادَ ودَوَّخوها عنْوَةً

    وجَرَتْ مدائحهم بكلِّ لسان

    They opened lands and conquered them by force

    And praises flowed in every tongue

  19. فهم العباد الصَّالحون وذكرهم

    قد جاءَ بعد الذكر في القرآن

    They are the righteous servants, and mentioning them

    Came after the Quranic mention

  20. هذا أمير المؤمنين وهذه

    آثاره من حازمٍ يقظان

    This is the Commander of the Faithful, these

    Are his feats, vigilant and resolute

  21. جعل العراق بنامق في جنَّة

    محفوفةً بالرَّوح والرَّيحان

    He made Iraq an Eden's paradise

    Surrounded by spirits and sweet basil

  22. فردٌ من الأَفراد بين رجاله

    لم يختصم بكماله اثنان

    A unique man among his men

    None can match his perfection

  23. تعم المشيرُ عليه في آرائه

    الصادق العرفات في الثوران

    The trusted advisor guides his opinions

    Honest in tumult and calm

  24. ما حلَّ في بَلَدٍ وآب لمنزلٍ

    إلاَّ وآمنها من الحدثان

    He marched into no land or dwelled in an abode

    Except he secured it from turmoil

  25. لا تعجبنَّ لنامق في فتكه

    ليثُ الحروب وفارس الفرسان

    Be not surprised by his ferocity in battle

    The warrior of wars and horseman of knights

  26. تروي صوارمُه الفخار عن الوغى

    لا عن فلانٍ حديثها وفلان

    His blades quench wars, not of this or that

    Their tales of men, not this man or that

  27. يَفْتَضُّها بالمشرفيَّة والقنا

    بكراً من الهيجاء غيرَ عوان

    He unsheathes them in Mashrafiyya and Qana

    Early morn, not needing aid

  28. ولربَّما أغْنَتْهُ شدَّة بأسه

    عن كلِّ هنديٍّ وكلّ يماني

    At times his fierceness enriches him

    Beyond any Indian or Yemeni

  29. أعيانُ من رفع الوزارة شأنها

    ألفَتْهُ عينَ أولئك الأَعيان

    Nobles he appointed in high office

    Attracted the gaze of those noblemen

  30. يا أيُّها الرُّكن الأشدّ لدولة

    بنيت قواعدها على أَركان

    O pillar, strongest support of the state

    Built on pillars, its foundations

  31. دارَتْ بشانيها رَحى تدميرها

    فكأَنَّها الأَفلاك بالدوران

    The millstones of its destruction spun

    As if the spinning celestial spheres

  32. أحكَمْتَها بالصِّدقِ منك مبانياً

    في غاية الإِحكام والإِتقان

    You fortified its edifice sincerely

    Perfectly constructed and precise

  33. فحظيتَ من ملك الزَّمان بما به

    فخرٌ على الأَمثال والأَقران

    You were honored by the King of the Age with

    Pride over peers and equals

  34. ولقد بلغتَ من العناية مبلغاً

    يسمو برتبتها على كيوان

    You attained from favor a lofty station

    Elevated above the celestial sphere

  35. سُسْتَ العراقَ سياسة ملكيَّة

    ما ساسها ذو التَّاج نوشروان

    You governed Iraq with royal policy

    Unparalleled by those crowned as Kisra

  36. وَسَّعْتَ كلّ الضيق من أحوالها

    حتَّى من الطرقات والبنيان

    You widened all its narrowed affairs

    Even the roads and buildings

  37. قرَّبتَ أرباب الصَّلاح بأسرهم

    ومَحوْتَ أهل البغي والعصيان

    You brought the righteous closer altogether

    And erased the unjust and rebellious

  38. وكذا الهماوند الذين تنمَّروا

    وتمرَّدوا بالظلم والعدوان

    As well as the Hamawands who rebelled

    With injustice and aggression

  39. دمَّرْتَهُمْ لمَّا عَلِمْتَ فسادَهم

    وضِرارهم بالأَهل والأَوطان

    You destroyed them when you knew their corruption

    And harm to people and homelands

  40. خَلَعوا من السلطان طاعتَه الَّتي

    في غيرها نَزْعٌ من الشيطان

    They broke allegiance to the Sultan to which

    All else is Satan's temptation

  41. لله درُّك من حكيمٍ عارفٍ

    إنَّ الحسام دواء داء الجاني

    Bravo, wise and knowledgeable one

    The sword remedies the criminal's malady

  42. جَرَّدْتَ من هِمَمِ الرَّئيس مهنَّداً

    ما أغْمَدَته القين في الأَجفان

    You brandished a keen blade from the chief's resolve

    Sheathed not in the coward's eyelids

  43. وعَلِمْتَ ما في بأسه من شدَّةٍ

    معْ أنَّه في لُطفه روحاني

    You knew the intensity of his might

    Though in gentleness, he is spiritual

  44. لبَّاك حينَ دعوتَه لقتالهم

    لا بالبطيء لها ولا المتواني

    You summoned him when you called him to battle

    Not slowly or with hesitation

  45. فمضى بأعناق العصاة غرارهُ

    والسَّيف لم يقطعْ بكفِّ جبان

    So he furiously attacked the rebels' necks

    As the sword severs no spine of cowards

  46. فكسا بما أمضى بهم بيض الظبا

    بدمٍ من الأَوداج أحمرَ قاني

    He clothed the white gazelles in blood

    From arteries, crimson and flowing

  47. وسَرَتْ به من طيب ذاتك نفحةً

    عطريَّة الأَنفاس والأَردان

    And the scent of your virtuous being wafted

    Fragrant breaths and hillsides

  48. هُنِّيت بالولد الجميل ونَيلِهِ

    رُتَبَ العُلى من حضرة السلطان

    I congratulate the beautiful son and his gaining

    The highest titles from the Sultan's court

  49. أضحى أميرَ لوائه في عسكرٍ

    لا زال منصوراً مدى الأَزمان

    He became emir of his banners in an army

    Ever victorious eons long

  50. وبما حباك الله في تأييده

    والفخرُ في نيشانك العثماني

    With what God gifted you in supporting him

    And pride in your Ottoman insignia

  51. لاحتْ أشِعَّته عليك لجوهر

    كالنجم لا بل كالشمس في اللَّمعان

    His brilliance shone upon you like a jewel

    No, like the sun in its brilliance

  52. هذا محلُّ الافتخار فدم به

    بالعزِّ والتمكين والإِمكان

    This is the pinnacle of pride, so live by it

    With honor, enablement, and ability

  53. فرن المؤيّد جوهراً في جوهرٍ

    فرأت به بغداد سعْدَ قران

    A essence set in a essence

    Baghdad saw through him auspicious times

  54. فرحٌ على فرحٍ يدوم سروره

    تجلو القلوب به من الأَحزان

    Joy upon joy, enduring in bliss

    With it hearts are illuminated of sorrows
