لك الخير شأنُ الجفن يحرسُ عينَه

وهذا بعين الله يحرس دائماً

Goodness is the work of the eyelid guarding its eye

And this with God's eye guards always

تبيتُ له خمسُ الثريا مُعيذةً

تُقلِّدُه زُهرُ النجوم تمائما

Five pleiades spend the night as his talisman

The stars' flowers make his amulets

فيا جفنُ لا تنفك في الحفظ دائما

وإن كنتَ في لجٍ من البحر عائما

O eyelid, never cease to guard always

Even if you are adrift in a sea swell
