A poem came to us from you, from Zawra’
It came with verses that gently torment
The eyes of onlookers rejoiced and refreshed
The hearing of people of perfection with discourse
And Fayha took pride in it
And showed the knowing ones wonder
It did not cease to be recited to every gentleman
And unveils the face of beauty from concealment
So I reward you, my lord, with goodness, for your hands
Have become desirable to me in beauty
They offer souls a cup of drink
From which we drink what renders drinking lawful
They excited my longing for you and my ardor
And here I am, resolved through it to return
After today I will send in every ship
My greetings to you, coming and going
Praising you preoccupies me, and my silence
About that was not an answer
If you knew what distracted me from you
You would pardon, and not direct blame from you
