فلم يكن المولى لأكل عصيدةٍ

دعاكم ولا للجبن والخبز والخل

The Master did not invite you to eat porridge,

Nor for cheese, bread, and vinegar did he call,

ولكن دعاكم للحلاوة والشوى

وكل لذيذ طاب من أنفس الأكل

But he invited you for sweets and roasted meats,

And every delicious delight from the choicest of foods.
