نعم ولكم فضلٌ بأشرف دعوة

غدوت بها يا صاح منشرح الصدر

Yes, and you have the greatest merit

Yes, yours is the merit of the most noble invitation,

With which I came, O friend, expansive of chest

Through which, O friend, my heart became expanded with joy.

وقد قيل لا يأبى الكرامة غير من

له عرق لؤم لم يزل في الخنا يسري

And it has been said, generosity is only refused by one

For it is said that none refuses such honor save him

Who has the vein of cowardice always flowing in him

Who bears a vein of baseness flowing ever in shame.

لمجلسكم أعلى الكرامة عندنا

ولفظكم أشهى إلينا من الدر

For your gathering, the highest generosity for us

Your assembly holds the highest rank in our esteem,

And your words, more desirable to us than pearls

And your words are more desirable to us than pearls.

رؤيتكم أجلى لهمي وإنني

غنيت بها عن طلعة الشمس والبدر

Seeing you clears my worries and even though

The sight of you dispels my sorrow, and truly,

I have become, through it, needless of sunrise and moon

I have no need, in your presence, for the rising sun or full moon.

عليك تحيات القبول تكرّها

أيا واحداً عندي يعدّ بذا العصر

On you greetings of acceptance, repeat them

Upon you be greetings of acceptance, repeated without end,

O unique one, for me, counted in this time

O you who are reckoned, in my eyes, the peerless one of this age.
