I came to ʿAbdallāh’s aid, his throne already cast down;
I reached Abdullah when his throne had been destroyed,
his hand already caught in the snare-setter’s noose.
And his hand was caught in the trapper's snare.
I pressed on toward him with the mounted company until I met him
I hastened towards him with the riders until I met him
at Tīmār, where the singing doves mourned him.
At Taymar, where the warbling dove wept for him.
