Our lords remembered their own people;
Our elders remembered their kin folk
Our masters remembered their kin,
they feared Oman, and they feared Qatar.
They feared Oman and feared Qatar
And feared Oman and feared Qatar,
And they feared al-Rawāṭī whenever there were laid bare
They feared Al Ruwati when he displayed
And feared the shoals when they loomed,
the cattle’s udders, where their calves suckled.
The cows’ halters of their children
Like wild cows licking their young.
