Behold, in their blood is loyalty to everything
Behold, in their blood, allegiance to all but God
Except God, ever since they flowed over the earth.
Since they spilled it on the plain

In proportion to the whiteness of their garb, within their hearts
As white as their raiment in their hearts
Lies blackness like the heart of him to whose faith they turned.
Darkness, like the heart of one who has strayed from his faith
