لِعَدل إله العَرش أَشكو ظلامتي

لِعَدل إله العَرش أَشكو ظلامتي

بِأَحكام عادٍ مِن بَقيّة عادِ

بِأَحكام عادٍ مِن بَقيّة عادِ

To the justice of the God of the Throne I complain of the wrong done to me,

To the justice of God, Lord of the Throne, I complain of my darkness

by the rulings of a transgressor, one of the remnants of ʿĀd.

By the laws of the remnant tribe of 'Aad

وَمِن فَضلِهِ أَرجو بُلوغ مَقاصِدي

وَمِن فَضلِهِ أَرجو بُلوغ مَقاصِدي

وَأَن يخمد الرَحمَن نارَ فُؤادي

وَأَن يخمد الرَحمَن نارَ فُؤادي

And from His bounty I hope to attain my aims,

And by His grace I hope to attain my aims

and that the All-Merciful will quench the fire in my heart.

And for the Merciful to extinguish the fire of my heart
