غَيثُrain أَفراحjoys الملاthe people قَدalready وَكَفاpoured down
غَيثُ أَفراح الملا قَد وَكَفا
حَسبكsufficient for you اللَهGod بِهَذاin this وَكَفىand He suffices
حَسبك اللَه بِهَذا وَكَفى
The rain of the people's joys has poured down.
The rain of joys for the king has stopped
God is enough for you in this—and He suffices.
May Allah be satisfied with this and enough
يَمّمturned toward البشرgladness مَعاليكyour lofty station وَفيand in
يَمّم البشر مَعاليك وَفي
حَرمsanctuary الفَضلexcellence لَدَيكin your presence اِعتَكَفاdwelt in devotion
حَرم الفَضل لَدَيك اِعتَكَفا
Gladness turned toward your lofty station, and in
People aspire to your greatness and remain
the sanctuary of excellence in your presence, it dwelt in devotion.
In the sanctuary of grace always devoted
حَيثwhere مَغناكyour dwelling لَناfor us لاحَshone بِهِin it
حَيث مَغناك لَنا لاحَ بِهِ
طالعrising star السَعدgood fortune بأنسwith delight وَصفاand serenity
طالع السَعد بأنس وَصفا
Where, in your dwelling, there shone for us
When your singing delighted us
the rising star of good fortune, with delight and serenity.
The star of fortune shone with joy and description
وَتَباشيرand the first tidings الهَناhappiness قَدalready أَقبَلَتarrived
وَتَباشير الهَنا قَد أَقبَلَت
وَلعمريand, by my life بِكَthrough you نالَتgained شَرَفاhonor
وَلعمري بِكَ نالَت شَرَفا
And the first tidings of happiness have arrived;
And the omens of happiness have come
and, by my life, through you they have gained honor.
By your life, through you they gained nobility
فَالتَهانيso congratulations أرّخَتmarked the date بشرىglad tidings لَناfor us
فَالتَهاني أرّخَت بشرى لَنا
بِالصَفاwith serenity وافىcame سَمِيُّnamesake المُصطَفىal-Mustafa (the Chosen One)
بِالصَفا وافى سَمِيُّ المُصطَفى
So congratulations marked the date of glad tidings for us:
So congratulations heralded good news for us
With serenity came the namesake of al-Mustafa.
With purity, the chosen Mustafa fulfilled
