The full moon of the dark night began to make the cup of wine’s sun gleam.
The full moon of Dujaila went away to polish the glass of the sun's wine
Slender-waisted and delicately built, he banished sorrows with joys.
A gentle breeze blew away the sorrows with joys

So drink the cups of bliss, and erase suffering with wine.
So drink the cups of bliss and wipe away the hardships with comfort
And rejoice when the singing young gazelle sings of it.
And rejoice when the happy pourer sings with it

وَاِعلم بِأَن العَذول في الريح عَذلو راح
And know that the faultfinder’s reproach has gone with the wind.
And know that the branches in the wind are flexible and gone
