أَرى النوحَ عصياناً لِمَن خَلق الخَلقا
Take solace, and do not wail too much, for I
Be patient, do not excessively mourn, for I
consider wailing disobedience to Him who created all creatures.
See mourning as disobedience to the Creator of creation.
وَلَيسَand is not رِثاءُlamentation الخلِّthe dear friend مُجدٍof any avail وَإِنَّماbut rather
وَلَيسَ رِثاءُ الخلِّ مُجدٍ وَإِنَّما
يَحقُّis rightfully due لَهُto him أَنthat لاnot تُضيعyou neglect لَهُof his حَقّاa right
يَحقُّ لَهُ أَن لا تُضيع لَهُ حَقّا
And lamenting a dear friend is of no avail; rather,
Mourning the departed is no glory, rather
you owe it to him not to neglect any of his rights.
What is right for them is that you do not neglect their rights.
