يا كاشِفاً سرّ الرُمو

ز وَمُظهراً فيها العجَب

O you who uncover the secret of symbols,

O revealer of concealed mysteries

And reveal wonders within them,

And manifester therein of wonders

وَموضِحاً طُرق الأَحا

وَموضِحاً طُرق الأَحا

جي في الأَعاجم وَالعَرَب

جي في الأَعاجم وَالعَرَب

And explain the ways of riddles

Clarifier of the ways of yearning

Among non-Arabs and Arabs,

Among non-Arabs and Arabs

أَنا طالب نيل اللقا

أَنا طالب نيل اللقا

وَمفنّدي يَأبى الطَلَب

وَمفنّدي يَأبى الطَلَب

I seek to attain a meeting,

I'm a seeker of attaining the encounter

And my reprover refuses the request.

Yet my suitor refuses seeking

ما مثل قَول معذّبي

ما مثل قَول معذّبي

بصدوده أَطلب كذب

بصدوده أَطلب كذب

Nothing matches my tormentor's saying

No words like those of my tormentor

For falsehood: 'I seek,' even as he turns away.

Whose repulsions make me seek lies
