ياO مَلجأrefuge وَالكُلّand everyone تَحتَbeneath لِوائِهِhis banner
ماranging بَينَbetween راجٍone hoping for جودهُhis bounty أَوor حائزِone possessing it
O refuge, beneath whose banner all stand,
O refuge, and all are under your banner
either hoping for his bounty or having received it.
Whether a generous or a miserly giver
وافيتI have come to بابكyour gate كَيso that أَفوزI succeed لِأَنَّهُfor it is the case that

I have come to your gate to find success, for
I came to your door that I may succeed, for
how many who seek refuge at your lofty gate find success!
How many hopefuls succeeded at your door
أَشكوI complain إِلَيكto you ضنىًwasting illness وَأَنتَand you طَبيبهits physician
وَأَناand I العَليلthe ailing one وَذاand this الزَمانage مبارزيmy adversary
I complain to you of wasting illness, and you are its physician.
I complain to You of hardship, and You are its Healer
And I am the ailing one, and this age is my adversary.
While I'm the ailing one, and time is my challenger
وَالعَجزand incapacity عُذريmy excuse عَنfor not offering مَديحكpraise of you سَيّديmy lord
فَاِجبرso mend بِفَضلكby your grace كَسرthe brokenness of قَلبthe heart of العاجزِthe helpless one
And incapacity is my excuse for not praising you, my lord.
And my incapacity is my excuse from praising You, my Master
So, by your grace, mend the helpless one's broken heart.
So mend with your grace, the broken heart of the incapable
