If ever he is counted last among the generous,
Whenever the seal of nobles was counted,
his virtues are mentioned first among them.
I mentioned his praises in preface.

God has elevated him to a station
through which Time has lowered its wing to him.
By which time lowered its wing to him.

Forbearing: if his forbearance were embodied

Your eyes would find its water pure.

We would find its utmost extent simply jest.

If I were to praise your sublimity, I have a tongue
through which its eloquence breathed forth, so it cried aloud.
Through which I can articulate eloquence.

I would find my pens parched there.

So I gifted you this praise, pure pearls.

So receive it favorably, for it is not proper
to wed a virgin if she is taken in illicit union.
To reject the marriage of an innocent bride.

For time has erected for you the bow.
